Japanese Grand Prix 2014, Suzuka - Race 15/19

I tell you.. After last time in not waiting on front of the TV for hours. If the delay looks undefinable I'll watch the highlights

Looks like they have no choice but early as possible

Will bbc move it to tht cbeebies channel? 2am start lol

The race has potential to be anticlimactic. Imagine it being stopped at smth like half distance to rain and them just going with that result?

It would be only the second time in the last 20 years that half points would have been awarded (Adelaide 1991 being the next furthest, though they could have restarted that later if they'd waited, as the sun came out and it dried up quickly).

More worrying would be them starting behind the safety car, the conditions worsening and the race being stopped without them ever racing. Half points would still be awarded as the "race" started so drivers would essentially be given 25 points down for qualifying. Still, at least you can say without any shadow of a doubt that the fastest driver won. :D

Leo Turrini confirms Ferrari and Fernando Alonso have ended their partnership and there will be an announcement this weekend. #F1 #Formula1

You're planning to see Max "Crazy Frog" Verstappen in action, then?

I have this wonderful invention called a DVR. It means I don't have to get up at 3am to watch my shows.

I usually record the flyaway practice sessions and this weekend I doubt will be any different, my 10 week old son will most likely be asleep at that time and sleep is sacred, especially these days :)

Anyway, having finally seen the weather forecast earlier on sky news it looks like that Typhoon is going to drench the circuit for pretty much the whole weekend. It's looking likely that the race could be postponed, I hope it's not and we actually have a full wet race.

So it seems like he's risking McLaren/Honda?

Good if true. although KB :( unless he gets a good drive.
A 20% chance of a good car is better than a 10% chance. Actually I would put mclaren higher than that. It'll be basically a Honda-mclaren team and no doubt Honda are both peeved about when they exited and know how much work needs to be done. As well as their secret projects, which I bet they've continued.

Malaysia 2009 was half points too. "I need a clear visor!"

And I think there is a minimum race distance needed before any points are given at all.

Edit: Blimey, the minimum limit is only 2 laps! That seems stupidly low.

That's why I said the second race in 20 years. ;)

Edit: Reading up, it seems there have been 5 races in history where they never made the 75% mark (not including the Indy 500 races).

Great news, I was starting to think that the highest paid driver was staying at Ferrari because of the money. :p

Now if he is moving to McClaren who is getting the boot? Do people still believe that Jenson is safe because he has a Japanese girlfriend?

Swap with Vettle?
I'm very keen for Jenson to stay at McLaren, but I can't see them wanting two 'old-boys' in the team :(

He'd be in with a better chance at RBR IMO. Vettel has openly admitted he can't adapt to the new regulations, when we all know Alonso can drive the wheels off an absolute dog of a car.

Alonso will be McLarens number 1. If he does go there then the second seat is pretty irrelevant. JB might be a good development driver for the new engine, while Kevin will be significantly cheaper. Or they could run Stoffle.

But JB and Alonso would mean both their drivers retiring within a couple of years at best. My gut says JB is outta there.

Luca di Montezemolo at the Paris Auto Show today, "one must be able to cope with changes..."

Final words from Montezemolo: "We (Alonso and Ferrari) all thought and hoped we could achieve better results together". #F1 #Formula1

Says it all, definitive confirmation he's gone, Alonso signed for Mclaren last week.

Honda apparantly have no interest in Button or Magnusson either. ****.

Alonso and Vettel @ Mclaren?

As Jenson said, won't they be hurt by having a rookie and an experienced driver? They'd need someone who can develop the car around the new engine and I'm not sure a rookie is up to the job, this is why I feel that they may retain Jenson and hit the ground running with a supernova team in button and alonso, two experienced, proven WDCs and a powerhouse of an F1 pairing, after all let's not forget Honda's principle priority is the WCC.
