Japanese Grand Prix 2014, Suzuka - Race 15/19

I think they need to start implementing a system that doesn't stop the racing for ages like safety cars but makes certain area's safe, like using the pit speed limiter through one sector to allow a tractor on in dangerous situations but letting them race the rest of the track. If everyone is going the same speed through an entire sector then safety is improved drastically and no one loses their advantage or gets screwed and the race still goes on.

Waved yellows and the whole "we lift a bit" thing has never been particularly safe, or at least use this system in wet races.

Either way, safety car, or a speed limited sector, they have to, have to stop tractors and other big vehicles on track in these conditions.

It was more they didn't seem to acknowledge it in the others drivers comments, I've not been watching the race so just coming to it.

Just seen the pics. Did his car get wedged under that crane?

I really hope he makes a recovery otherwise there will be a ****storm to follow on Hondas decision not to start the race early when asked twice by the fia.

And here is the problem, what if Sutil needed immediate medical attention?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Rubbish. Very tired of that excuse being rolled out, as if it's never possible to make a "correct" decision.

In that situation, the SC should have been deployed immediately after Sutil's crash, given the worsening conditions, the nature of that corner and the obvious need for assistance and recovery. Total no-brainer.
