Japanese Grand Prix 2014, Suzuka - Race 15/19

I'm unsure whether your trolling, whether you have a really poor understanding of how the flags work, or if you have really bad 3D spacial awareness which means you haven't grasped how sight lines work around corners, but either way I think we are well past the point that we can have a sensible discussion about this, so I will leave you too it.

As I said I would do: Sorry to the rest of the forum.

Not trolling (but you seamed to start off trolling;) )

But perhaps Bianchi saw the green flag ahead of him (as can clearly been seen being waved in the vids) and sped up as green=go right?

The green flag is being waved before the scene has even been cleared of marshalls and machinery.

That video has Been taken down by F1. I thought that was illegal?

FOM own the copyrights to all video/photos recorded and taken at the track, its printed on the back of each race ticket sold.

Saw the video before it was taken down, horrible impact. The JCB was tossed around so much.:(

So they own every single photo\video every one takes and could charge you for the pleasure?.

Regarding what Massa was complaining about, several drivers said the standing water was extremely hard to see due to the fading light, so while the overall grip was likely to be better than earlier, it was harder to see the standing water and any forming rivers. That's probably what he was getting at.

The video posted of the live timing paints a different story, showing he was at a very similar speed around Dunlop as he did the lap before. It's never going to be 100% accurate of course but it suggests he was at a similar pace and didn't back off completely for the yellow only to speed back up when he saw the green.

Still, the flags aren't when you see them, it's when you pass them, and it would be in any driver's briefing with a rookie driver, and probably several times a season as a reminder, if your junior career hadn't implanted them firmly into your head anyway. The green flag was waved metres after the incidents, but as long as they were after it doesn't matter how far. Pass the green, you're free to race again.

Anyway, the drivers likely wouldn't be looking at the flags, they've got a bright light on the dashboard, which would have been extremely hard to miss given how poor the light conditions at the time were meant to be.

They never do back off for yellows. Everyone's been saying that for years. A quick lift of the throttle, is all they have ever had to do. They've never actually been at a speed that they could actually stop. Like they are meant to.

It's a good reason for a shake up. And implement a system where we can continue racing and have sensible SC, slow zones and yellow flag rules. and not just from a safety perspective. The SC was out for far to long, and drivers like Massa need to get on with it or retire. He's never been good in the wet. And so of course is going to complain as he will always go down the field. I mean button went on to inters pretty much straight away and went faster other than mercs.

They unlikely to charge you, but they control all the publishing rights. Frankly you could stick a photo up in your post office window and it would be within their rights to take it down. I guess technically they could force you to (re)move it from your own window if it was displayed prominently, though they'd never inforce that... well, never say never with Bernie...

Was it a fan video? If so, then yes it's a misuse.

If it was FOM video, then they can do what they want with it.

Fan but it's not a misuses. They sell video and picture rights for 100s of millions. You can only take stuff for personal use. Uploading it to youtube is not personal use. And in this case they are going to be very on the ball to remove it as well.
