And that was the justification for why after the revolution Ayatollah Khomeini dropped the age of marriage in Iran to 9. (Sex is illegal outside marriage) It was raised to 13 for females in 2002 who married without parental consent. Under 13's require parental consent plus the approval of a "Righteous Court."

The fact that she has boobs kind of removes the paedophilic element from the equation, but it does remain that she is only 12 years old and as such is socially and sexually naive and should probably not be put into positions where she has men multiples of her age drooling over her.

If you had their consent/parents consent you could. I mena, i hane lots of photos of beaches from the south of france etc. Theres bound to be the odd topless person in there somewhere- is that pornography? There are porbably also lots of children in the background, maybe some young girls wearing bikinis. Heck, I have a picture that has my girlfriend in the bottom left corner, you can just make out her breasts- is that porn? no!


The behaviour may seem strange and we have the right to be concerned but we must remember that this is not straightforward pornography or pedophilia, it is a cultural difference.

As has been mentioned before, in the US the age of consent is 18. Does this make us all pedos? In some counbtires you mustn't have sex until you are married (syria I believe for one). Are we 'sickos' for having sex outside marriage? In many countires the age of consent is 13, are we just old fashioned?

and for all those on their high horse, lets compare young teenage pregnancies in the UK and in Japan.

Id bet money that way more young british girls are being humped by older guys than young japanese girls.

Do i accpet stoning people to death because they are unfaithful to their husbands.

We are way behind on the rest of europe on the age of concent, lowering that and giving it 5 years eduaction may help us out on the teenage pregnancy front.

Hes saying that a subjective view cannot be applied to everyone...Therefore the loony clerics view shouldnt be applied to everyone...Just as our views shouldnt.

To be honest, I don't see much of a problem, they're just doing modelling, true, a some of the pics may be a bit questionable for the UK, but as has been said, Japan is a totally different culture to ours, and I'll agree with that argument, we can't just go about judging them on it really.

Because it is an arbitrary limit. :p

It therefore has a limited (if any) basis in principle. It is, however, a line that has been drawn and one that (presuming our political process acts with reasonable efficiency – oh ho ho) the bulk of society find agreeable.

That isn’t to detract from the rest of your (quite reasonable) post – that line just amused me.
