Tbh I'm personally left wondering how much, if any of the alleged abuse was considered normal practice 20-30 years ago?

I don't really see whats ironic. Hitler and Saville are completely different scenario's. Hitler was the losing side of a war, if he'd won, would he be tried for war crimes by his own side later on? That would be ironic.

At this point it has a 'bandwagon' feel about it all. Its clearly not a hoax, even if he has been found guilty by the media, but these claims just seem to be coming at a never ending rate. You have to wonder how many of them have any truth to them or aren't been blown completely out of proportion.

They're both dead, so what the hell does it matter.

Let's waste millions on an inquiry like we did on phone hacking, only to get six months down the line and wonder why we bothered.
 
I find it slightly odd that "celebrities" would call Max Clifford to express concern, Max Clifford being someone who's first instinct is to call Sky News and arrange a press conference to announce "several celebrities have contacted me to express concern....."

The people who the offenses were reported to who just blew them off should be prosecuted. Its no excuse to say "oh well, it was a different world then", does that mean that it was acceptable then?

Reminds me of all the soap and makeup adverts that say things like "3000 women can't be wrong".

That being said, I think at least some of the allegations made against Jim must be true.
 
they'd have you believe it was because if it wasn't i can see loads of people from that time being put in a cell.. if it turns out to be massive involving loads of well off celebs it would be in their interest to say it was acceptable at the time and that everyone should ignore it..
