Joe Rogan and Spotify

I didn't argue that he was young and immature, you made that argument yourself and then decided that was my position. I just said it was 20 years ago and that it doesn't make someone a bad person today.

Could I ask that you actually read the words that I actually type before you hit reply?

If a 90 year old said something at 70 would it be fair to say he likely still has that view but maybe just doesn't say it?

Have you watched/listened to any of his podcasts in the past 10 years, he is absolutely not like that at all anymore.

Though his behaviour in that clip was totally uncalled for.

Occasionally, depends on who he has on and if it pops up on my podcast app. I don't mind the 3 hour format but it has to be someone that genuinely interests me for me to listen to it. I've only got so many work hours and I'm subscribed to a lot of podcasts.

Look I'm not saying he's a bad guy, though him encouraging the pile on to Prof Peter Holtz isn't great and I've yet to see him tweet that people are taking it way too far. I just don't see him as some great moderator in a debate about serious ****. He would be way out of his depth and would have no idea if either person was talking out of their arse. He can be funny and entertaining but this subject isn't about funny or entertainment. Even Elon who is way more intelligent than Joe would be out of his depth. Intelligence means nothing when the subject matter takes years of hard study to understand. Elon has shown his own ignorance on several occasions with stupid tweets on medical matters.

Sadly the way this is going its only a matter of time before someone does something stupid with encouragement like this

This right here sums up perfectly why the professor would be wasting his time with anti-vaxers.

To be fair to Peter Hotez, the Science may very well be on his side, but he currently looks like the guy who called another kid in school a nasty name and is now asking his mum to pick him up from school so he doesn't have to fight him. If anyone were to say to me that my job is BS, I would happily explain it in detail and show them why the math adds up. If someone were to say to Elon Musk that Rockets are BS because the Earth is flat, I'm sure he'd debate them and show the evidence. This guy just looks like a complete wimp basically.

Ah yes very unnatural to be a wimp when there's someone selling bags of bullets whilst being called a war criminal akin to Mengele.

He went on MSNBC, so how is that relevant? If he can speak to MSNBC then surely he can speak to Robert Kennedy Jr?

Do you not accept that Robert Kennedy Jr is a bit mental though? We can all see the guy is a bit of a crackpot. What is there to discuss?

Rogan should have called BS at the start.

I watched the whole three hours. I wouldn't class him as a crackpot at all, no way.

Of old/outdated perspectives perhaps, with a suspicious and questioning mind, yes.

You can definitely tell he's an activist, and tries to highlight all types of data in attempt to strengthen his arguments, or rather discredit those of others, like an attorney. However, his reasons for doing so appear sound, and his motives appear rational and highly reasonable: Stronger controls on drug trials? yes please. Stronger regulations on environmental pollution? yes please.

He thinks HIV and AIDS aren't linked. That the drugs developed for HIV/AIDS are poison and tells people they shouldn't take them leading to the deaths of people, a women and her young child died because she believed his nonsense and refused treatment for both of them, he called her a hero. He thinks children shouldn't be vaccinated. Vaccines have saved millions of children's lives and saved millions more from terrible life changing diseases.

He has spent years refining his message, so he might sound normal and just with a suspicious and questioning mind but just look at his history and his claims over time. His message is dangerous nonsense. He shouldn't be given the platform or airtime that he is. He's just another Andrew Wakefield but worse.

The only reason he is where he is is because his name is Kennedy.

Oh so he's the bully here is he? He is the one calling someone names and trying to bully them into doing something. He's the one doing the internet pile on?

Your job and this guys job and nothing alike. I'm fairly sure you haven't spent decades of hard study and research developing patent free vaccines and you wouldn't have the first idea how to do it either even if someone explained to you.

And Elon wouldn't debate a flat Earther, he would see it as beneath him and he'd be right but even he isn't an expert in that field as this guy is. He has no formal education or qualifications, he just owns a rocket company and calls himself "chief engineer". Tory Bruno is far more qualified.

The idea that these guys are wimps is laughable. You just see some old man who isn't growing his biceps but they use their minds to challenge each other. They push the boundaries of knowledge and medicine. They are challenged by their peers, not by some crackpot on an entertainment podcast where the host is likely stoned/drunk.

Firstly, how does that make him a crackpot? He has conspiratorial views, but he's of sound mind. Secondly, I didn't hear him say anything like to JRE... do you have some links?

(e: or I don't recall)

You're using the word bully to try and make someone the victim when that person fired the first shot. You're saying there's an "internet pile on" when what I see is massive amounts of main stream left wing media going after Robert Kennedy Jr, does that pile on not count but Joe Rogan and Elon Musk do?

Your job and this guys job and nothing alike. I'm fairly sure you haven't spent decades of hard study and research developing patent free vaccines and you wouldn't have the first idea how to do it either even if someone explained to you.

Yeah sure, Professor Brian Cox can explain String Theory in ways we can understand but this science is just too complex for us to grasp.

He's literally Chief Engineer, people still debating that at this point just look silly. I bet you can't find a single person who works in Space Tech calling him a fraud.

It's not his physical attributes, it's his character. He very much looks like he's running scared of something that he himself initiated. He wasn't randomly attacked on Twitter, he did the attacking and now he's hiding behind his mums coat.

I studied the very difficult, but very verifiable, science, back in the COVID days, starting as a neutral when it came to deciding whether I should have the jab myself.

A couple of years on and the surreal times are a memory of having to defend my conclusion that the jab was unsafe compared to the risk of COVID itself, especially versus the banned treatments that could be procured.

I work for the NHS and I didn't have to wait long to witness the actual havoc the COVID jabs were having on people.

As far as I'm concerned, the debate is over. The doubt about the jabs is everywhere. Everyone knows someone who's been tremendously hurt by the jab or died.

Fatalities from COVID itself (two that I know of in my personal/professional circle) were in the initial wave when COVID was at its most deadliest. COVID became weaker in terms of deadliness as it evolved, but only the 'conspiracy theorists' were spreading the info that viruses become less deadly and more contagious as time goes on hence why the 1918 flu virus is still amongst us, just less deadly.
