Just about to start Morrowind

This brings back the memories. I spent more time playing morrowind then I ever did on oblivion. There are so many great mods to download that can add tons of features, items and houses. And the skill/item system is a little more complex than oblivion which allowed for a bit more differentiation between characters.

One feature of morrowind that I wish oblivion had was the open cities, in morrowind you could simply use a spell to increase your acrobatics and launch yourself over the walls and into a town, in oblivion you are forced to use the doors as each town is its own 'internal' zone.

If anyone is going to download this mod i had a problem where the game wouldn't start, and it was with MGE(morrowind graphics extender). The version supplied with the mod was an older one. so you might have to get the newer version

Had the same problem myself, here's the fix.

The procedures:
Right click -> properties-> compatibility tab -> always run as administrator
apply this on
Morrowind Launcher.exe
Morrowind.exe
MGEgui.exe

Run Morrowind Launcher and set a temporary resolution:(set back and forth between 640x480-800x600)
Now try to run Mgegui.exe.

Also you need to google and download Better Bodies, and install that.

Yeah, i just had to dl the latest version of mge and then it worked perfectly. It is made very clear in the walkthrough to run everything as admin, so i just did.

I just noticed about Better Bodies, there is a message in MLOX saying that it is missing.

Are you playing around with a few mods then sldsmkd?

Just getting that pack working (which it is now). I take what I said about it looking as good as a modded Oblivion back tho.

Ha, i was gonna say, as good as unmodded Oblivion for sure, but not with mods.

I am just installing Morrowwnd comes alive, which adds load of NPC's. Should improve the game, but i will have to look at performance though.

Morrowind is one of the few games in adulthood that really gave me the "WOW" effect. It's the kind of game I'd dreamed of playing as a young kid. Had been aware of TES for a quite while before buying it but was just blown away when I actually played it.

Mods seemed to have taken this game to a whole other level since I played this on the Xbox but I will wait a lot longer still before I play it again. Until then, it will remain in nostalgia.

I have decided to use Sound and Graphics overhaul as the only graphics mod as it looks great with it. I have added a few gameplay changing mods, but i had to do a reinstall as i was getting 2 of every npc:confused: which i think was down to Morrowind comes Alive.

I have animated Morrowind on which adds some npc's as well and also the animal behaviour mod. I am going to add quite a few more(got about 50 downlaoded)

some more screenies, just of the first area. The first screenshots i realised, were done without the patches to MGSO.:)

With the Seydaneen docks mod which adds some docks, ships and NPC's to Seydaneen (this was before applying the patches)

The sky looks great, though i thought it was pretty good in Vanilla tbh.

Graphics aren't everything, but it certainly helps that you can make the game look much better, especially as i imagine there are quite a few people who have been put off by the graphics of Morrowind:)

Morrowind, bloodmoon and tribunal.BSA's.

It is all explained step-by-step in the google docs walkthrough of Overhaul sound and graphics, if you are installing that mate:)
