Cheers, looks promising then. I only game at 1440x900 because of my monitor so I think it should manage to run fine on my system too.

Any ancient gamers here who can remember all the way back to Quake1 CTF and the fantastic grapple, with all the gameplay options that allowed, should at least try the demo. I'm no fan of 3rd person gaming (it almost, but not quite, ruined Dead Space for me), but it works pretty well here (great animations) and the grapple, all on its own, may justify the price of entry.
I only spent about 20 minutes playing around, but I had a lot of fun experimenting. The physics is a bit iffy to boost the fun factor, but when you're smiling you're not really worrying about the strange behaviour of those rocket-like gas bottles.
I may crack and try this sooner rather than later... though I'll be spending a lot more time in the demo first. The novelty may soon wear off, which is why I always try to avoid that release day spending itch.

PS Auto-aim (assuming it's on, I didn't check) on the default settings didn't strike me as particularly obvious.

Nah, I meant I could not resist making the decision to buy it or not. Was not sure whether to give it a try or wait for a bit to see how it was received.

play.com dropped the ball on this one too, harumph. That's three or four in a row I haven't had on release day. Not that it makes much difference but I'm feeling a little left out here
Had good experiences with coolshop so far and they're very cheap, think I'll go with them for the next game I order.

The game truly is stunning and with such detail from so far away. Especially in the mountains!
Has anyone captured that large airfield in the desert part of the island? Has lot of nice jets. I'm stuck at 97% can't find the last ruddy bonus box! I'm convinced its bugged. Not on my main PC atm so can't check the name of the airfield but its the biggest on the map in the desert area.
