The car is worth about £50, it's a Proton Persona. He only paid £100 for it. If the accident had simply burst two tyres it'd still be a write off in insurance terms!

I think your absolutely right there.

One thing that worrys me about my silly mile e39 is one daft car park incident & it'll be a write off.

It may well be in A1 condition, full history etc etc alas, in the eyes of a loss adjuster, its effectively worthless at its age & miles.

I often wonder what would be the outcome of say a claim for a replacement windscreen - that in itself is probably the cars value!

Hopefully, I won't find out!

Windscreen claims are completely different, you can't compare that to accident damage.
