Just gave blood again, do you?

I have done it once when I was about 17/18. I went to do it a few years ago and the nurse said I couldn't give it, I can't remember her reasoning. Was pretty gutted as I have had family that owe they're lives to blood donors, so thank you to all who donate.

Never have, never would either :(

Have many many tattoos which is a no no, and im stupidly scared of needles :(

...yes i understand to have a tattoo is to be stabbed hundreds of times with a needle, but its different :p

Not been for ages now, and they keep phoning me. The waiting time was getting daft i used to book a time of about 15:00 and the last two times i went it was at least 15:40 before i even had the iron test.

Have told them this on the phone and they don't seem that interested and just say why not come in on a Saturday.

Due to the amount of interaction I have with the health service I'd like nothing more than to "give something back" and donate some blood. Alas due to my numerous medication I am unable to.
Not worried about the needles - I had rather large ones stuck in my arm 3 times a week for 3yrs, so that part is a walk in the park for me :)

Should be able to squeeze in one more donation before my Tattoo - then I'll have to give it a short break then back on the needle.

Got my results recently & it seems I'm unable to do platelet donation (sadly!) - as I'm willing, the right blood group & have good enough veins - but they need people with superhuman counts of platelets & mine is pretty normal.

I had to stop giving at Christmas due to having a virus. Got the all clear to go back though and went in on Monday and they've put me on standby for platelet donation.
