Why o why do people even take these seriously?

If they bothered to read or check the date of the news article they will see it applies to the MSN web portal not messenger, and it was from 2001?

I don't really mind receiving those sorts of emails, I see it as an idiot filter.

If one of my contacts sends me anything like that I simply never speak to them again.

Do you have any friends in real life? The reason I ask is because non computer literate people send crap like this ALL the time. If I refused to ever speak to anyone who did it ever again my circle of friends would soon consist only of a handful of people who spend all their time on the internet.

Normal people, for whom a computer is not a hobby or even an interest, forward this sort of crap. To not speak to them again is pathetic. Virtually all my friends at Uni forward this sort of stuff. Its what people do.

How have you still got people left to talk to?

Lack of intelligence? Your taking it a bit to far. People who never really use computers don't understand these type of e-mails.
