I thought it was pretty good. A huge improvement on the original release. They could easily have cut 30 mins out of it though. And that dream sequence at the end was completely unnecessary. 7/10
That 'dream' sequence was actually a vision of the future and not really a dream. It was also shown in BvS. In essence it WILL happen. This is where the sequel would be heading.

Also known as the Knightmare. It’s where Lois is killed, although I’m unsure if it was by Darkseid or Batman or whoever, but Supes goes a bit loopy and ends up ruling the planet, again I’m unsure if it’s under Darkseid or not. Basically what might come to pass in the future. It also harks back to the flash scene in BvS when future Flash tells Bruce to save Lois here: https://youtu.be/qVZYsAyrLmU

Darkseid takes control of Superman using the antilife thingy mentioned in the ZS JL. JL2 would have taken place in this knightmare future with Flash having to go back in time to prevent Lois dying and there for changing the future. It was all planned out.

Shame about the whole execution, could have been a decent story ark.

Now you've got two films, whilst they are 'the same' one has a slightly different story over the other :p

I thoroughly enjoyed it, the wife sat through every minute of it and enjoyed it too and she hates both 3+ hr films and in most super hero movies so for her to sit through it all with me and not have her moaning in my ears constantly is good enough feedback.

Yeah there were inconsistent plot points and the slowmo is a bit cringy at times but it was fun and entertaining viewing and a great addition to the DC verse, its just a shame that the original JL and WW 1984 exist....

Think its Sups that ends up killing Lois, also hinted at she was maybe pregnant.

How did Joss Whedon and WB F this up the first time round ?

if its like the comics it will be the joker, batman tries to stops superman from killing the joker.

How did Joss Whedon and WB F this up the first time round ?

Short version: Whedon was on a hiding to nothing, trying to fit two quarts into a pint pot.

This seems to be the story from rumours: WB saw the success of the MCU, but didn't want to put the work in. Justice League was originally supposed to be four movies with backstory and character buildups (as per the MCU movies like Iron Man that came together with others as the Avengers movies). WB told Snyder he could only have two movies. Then he was told one movie that couldn't be more than two and a half hours long. This was never going to work, and the relationship between the studio and Snyder deteriorated. It's not known for sure if Snyder was sacked first, or if he left after the suicide of his daughter to be with his family.

Joss Whedon was brought in to "do an Avengers" to try and fix the movie, while staying within the WB time constraints. Too much humour, story and characters cut back, massive reshoots, crappy CGI and the infamous disappearance of Henry Cavill's moustache. This explained the poor theatrical version, as the studio tried to stuff four films into one at a very limited running time.

This brought the fan campaign to bring back he full Snyder cut version. WB needed something big to draw people to their HBO Max streaming service. All interest in Game Of Thrones (which was their big jewel in the crown) died after the terrible last season, and took the planned spin-offs with it. With nothing in production due to Covid-19, WB got Snyder back to finish the film he wanted, with the runtime restrictions removed due to being on a streaming service. AT&T owns WB, and is in massive debt and may have forced WB and HBO Max to pull this rabbit our of the hat.

This brings an interesting situation. Before the success of the Snyder Cut, Justice League's failure was being used as a way to kill off the Snyder-verse version of the DCU. JJ Abrams and his wife have been brought in on a massive $500 million contract to build the DCU (he will destroy the franchise with his overt SJW agendas like he did with Star Wars and Star Trek). Now the Synder cut seems to have been very successful, and there's a possibility of the Snyder-verse continuing alongside whatever Abrams wants to do, but this would be in direct conflict with Abrams' plans. AT&T want money to clear their debts first and foremost, and will push WB and HBO to do whatever it takes to make money, so must be eyeing up the success of Justice League and wonder if that's the path to follow.

Watch this space to see what happens when JJ Abrams screws things up, and what happens with James Gunn's (Guardians of the Galaxy) Suicide Squad 2. There's even unlikely talk of a David Ayer cut of Suicide Squad so he can get his original vision, rather than the poor version with the excessive interference from the WB studio.

Joss Whedon director career is probably dead now as Syndney basically bad ea fool out of him and syndey is no christopher nolen.

Also, JJ Abrams now leading this franchise?

SInce when? thats news to me?!?!

GIve it to the Nolen brothers!

Don't forget Whedon has a string of fan favourite sucesses behind him, such as Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and made the Avengers in a billion dollar film. His biggest problem has been his behaviour on set, and he's suffering from cancel culture after revelations of his private behaviour from his ex-wife, and his poor behaviour on set of his past projects (such as Buffy), as well as recent ones like Justice League. Like many directors, he's an *******.

JJ Abrams and his wife (leader of the Me-Too movement) have made a half a billion deal for Bad Robot (often called "Bad Reboot" in less appreciative fan circles) to work for WB on the DCU. This is where all the Black Superman stuff came from a couple of months back, and why Henry Cavill isn't signed on to make Superman films. Abrams and his wife created the notorious "No More White Comfort" document from their multi-million dollar mansion at the height of the BLM riots. Fans of these franchises are not impressed after Abrams "work" on Star Wars and Star Trek. People who trained under him seem to be required to share his agendas, so you end up with the likes of Alex Kurtzman wrecking Star Trek on TV and injecting the same agenda as Abrams himself.

Christopher Nolan has left WB. He was ****** off at the way they released Tenet as an experiment instead of holding it for the cinemas to reopen. A lot of Nolan's people were involved in Superman vs Batman (hence blunting Snyder's full vision), due to all the cachet he wields after the successful Christian Bale Batman films. It's also worth noting that Snyder's Director's cut of SvB also made a lot more sense than the shorter version that WB insisted on releasing to the theatres. Snyder just needs longer films to get his full vision out as per Watchmen or Man Of Steel.

Rumours were that a lot of Nolan's people were also involved in Wonder Woman, which is why the first film worked so well, but then letting Patty Jenkins do WW2 by herself proved she doesn't really have the talent to do the job. The optics for a female director (Patty Jenkins) making (or at least having her name on the front of) a couple of WW films were irresistible for the studio.

Better than the theatrical release but still an average movie, at best.

At least there is an attempt at some back stories for the new members but Aquaman's and Flash's are both woeful. Cyborgs just bored me but others seemed to like it so that might be just me.

Motherboxes are better explained but the explanation just doesn't make sense. Why didn't Darkseid come back for them? Was he really drunk and forgot what planet he was invading?

WW bank scene looks cool but it is even dumber than before. Faster than a bullet but too slow to stop a guy from reloading so let's blow the side of the building out and hope it doesn't collapse.

WW claims that Steppenwolf is the strongest being she has fought. Forgotten about Doomsday already? You know the guy that killed superman and is the trigger for the whole movie. Do people get paid to write this stuff?

Steppenwolf is overshadowed by Darkseid. The big bad Darkseid is shown in combat for a few seconds where he gets his ass kicked by Ares and Zeus. This is the antagonist that everyone should be fearful of?

Countless more examples that could be picked apart.

That isnt full Darseid in the movie, Darkseid resides as the same overal person in multiverses, so he kinda slits himself off ino those parts, we never seen the full together version of Darkseid, they are more like Mini Thanos types. The plan was to build up to that more and more thinking they had faced full force version of him before, but not till Grenn Lanterns etc got involved.

Darkseid didnt come back as they where well protected, with Superman dying its only then the Mother boxes call out to come back. Doomsday was beaten by jsut Sups and WW, Batman doing what he could, it took the gathering of the rest of the team to beat Steph.

yeah but what about the previous 5000 years before superman was even here?
Its not really explained why they forgot all about earth, and the anti life equation even less explained - did darkseid not know? what was all the fancy design on the floor when he was there last time?

How did AT&T become so much in dept after they just purchased Warner, Maybe they will end up selling and someone who know something can take over, its been a bit poor since they took over, they just want everything to be quick and expect it to make money, which does not happen.

Ok So its was a f up partnership.
They Wanted to move away from what DC is.

This is why they are failing, spending money to bring in new guys, reshoots, and not checking the work, If they just spent a little time spreading the movies across a few years, they could have done much better,

If they did a part one then in 6 months later did a side movie and 12 months later did part 2 it would have been better, just look at LOTR, Marvel, or even better built it up over a number of years, we had not info on anyone of the heros other then superman and batman. I think if they built up before BvS maybe had a at least 1 batman movie. IMO they had no real idea, They had a ready built model with Marvel and Star wars, but just did not want to put in the time.

I mean DC has better more in-depth characters and storylines if done right marvel cant touch them but they cant.
They even had a mostly all start cast unlike marvel who had unknows at start.

also JJ Abrams and his wife, first of all is JJ is he not the Sci-Fi guy does he know much about super heros and what does his wife do to be brought in.

I would rather have a comic book guy for creative like Kevin Smith.

christopher nolen would be a good option to direct we know what he did with batman but he's a little stuck in his ways. also maybe the Russo Brothers.

All his big hits are tv show and avengers was good because he had to report to others who kept checking it, we know what kind of movie youwould get if he has a free run of things.

I dont thing I would want JJ for this project He;s a sci-fi what can he do here and also he like to jump ship very quick look at start trek and the rest and I dont see the point of his wife is she someone with talent in hollywood or is it just because of JJ.

in my option unless they start from scratch they cant do it with henry cavil he was a good superman and the only one with a few movies.

I think the fame has gone to Christopher Nolans head like most I dont think I like any of his movies other then batman and the other issue is he's stuck in his ways,

So thats why WW2 was so bad We stopped watching 30 mins in

WB need someone in charge to over see like disney has Kevin Feige.
