Kerbal Space Program

Tried that. Went flying off side ways and exploded :(

At least I know I've got a rocket that can get to the Mun.

Ah, no RCS on the lander? Thats the best way to pop things back upright on Mun! :)

Speaking of which, totally forgot I had a lander & rover orbitting, so decided to pop it down tonight..

What do you mean you wanted THAT crater? Damn fussy probe cores..

After landing I remembered a dodgy coupler was the reason I never landed it in the past, so the Rover has something stuck under it! Never mind, was designing a new Rover last night, I'll take it over tomorrow!

Ahh you are in career, sorry :)

I got annoyed just trying for scheme and being told where to go for new science etc.. So went back to sandbox and made my own goals! They're hard enough, and with mechjeb not working still in .23 it makes it tough as ingoing to ask if for assistance in some docking!

After being a complete nerd on the whole apollo and shuttle missions lately, read most autobiographys and books about them I feel that I should buy this and install it when i finish work in about an hour :).

I hold down the spin button and keep the legs in, sometimes you can fix it by messing about.

Always happens to me.

You really should. If you have any interest at all in rocket science, you'll love Kerbal.

Been distracted... By other games! :D Managed to bug a workmate into buying it though - for anyone who doesn't currently own this - it's on the Steam sale for £11.99 right now.

Think I might go make some silly new rocket later...

I've gave up on the career mode for now, just been playing in sandbox mode. I can now get to the Mun without building stupidly massive rockets, but I always run out of fuel on the way back.

Long time forum lurker, had to post in this thread though. I was bought this as a gift this Christmas (I'd played the demo many moons ago), and have become hideously addicted.

Playing career mode and after a few aborted starts (over-reliance on solid fuel rockets) have managed to orbit and re-enter Kerbin's atmosphere a number of times and have entered low orbit around the Mun and somehow managed to return safely.

It's not all been plain sailing though. My first Mun attempt has resulted in one of my intrepid green explorers getting stuck in solar orbit. I don't think I'm in a position to mount a rescue yet. Might just build a memorial and leave him to it......nobody needs to know.

Need to clean the house ahead of New Year festivities tonight but all I really want to do is attempt my first Mun landing!

You're going to leave your kerbal to die alone in space? You monster.

Go on, attempt a rescue. You can send an unmanned rocket with a habitation module to come pick him up.

Hey, he knew the risks.

I could give it a shot I suppose. I've yet to attempt a rendezvous and my orbiting skills are rudimentary at best. But that's what space flight is all about, suicidal optimism and winging it, for the benefit of all.

Trouble is, with no docking port you will just have to get close and EVA over!

Either get your guys home, establish a base somewhere, or blow them up! :)

Question, I'm trying to build a refuelling station that will orbit Kerbin. When you dock, is there an option to transfer fuel across and do I need the FTX-2 External Fuel Duct?

Once docked you can hold alt key and right click the tank you want to refuel and then do the same on the full tank and then the in/out buttons will pop up to allow it if I am remembering correctly.

Hello hamesy.

Do you know how to transfer fuel from tanks manually? Within your own ship (When not docked?) If you do, the process is exactly the same with a docked craft's.
Right Mouse Click; Tank 1.
Alt + Right Mouse Click; Tank 2.

An each tank, will display, it's own GUI. Representing how much fuel or RCS is remaining in each tank.
From there if there is room, the options to transfer fuels, from corresponding tanks will be shown.
This process will be exactly the same as Docked Craft, as they effectively become merged, an handled by KSP as one craft, not two separate craft's. :)
