Kerbal Space Program

Noooo had some spyware and installed a fair few trial software recently, so thought I do a reinstall before this was released, what bad timing. It'll be a nice fresh machine once I'm up and running,

I'm getting this error when trying to download from the KSP site Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /host/www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/htdocs/lib/multiplayDwn.php on line 132

Is this the KSP server's way of saying "i cant cope with all these download requests"?

I don't want to patch via the patcher if it still exists because i have a billion mods that will inevitably crash the game on my 0.23.5 install if i updated to 0.24, and i cba to uninstall them. also i;d prefer a fresh install for the x64 version

Hi Reaper.
I am not 100% sure but yes, I believe its the server crying for mercy with all the download requests.

The store offers 32/64 Bit downloads for Windows/Linux. Mac OSX is 32 Bit only.

I'd suggest creating another folder with only the patcher (Download the latest) and let the Patcher redownload all the files. It should then include 32/64 Bit exacutables for your fun.
Or considering transferring account to Steam.
Or wait to tomorrow for the severs to have less load.

But be patient the servers (Store & Steam) are both been murdered with download requests. The hype an anticipation for 0.24 has been trimendiously high. :)
Good luck, and see you out there.

PS: What's peoples thoughts on the latest version?

Can you get 64bit through steam?

Windows is back up and running and all updates/drivers installed, that took a while as broadband is dead, so tethered to phone.

It seems that steam automatically uses the 32 bit one, I'm sure this will get fixed at some point soon but for now you can run the 64 bit by finding the .exe in the KSP root folder.

This means it won't count to your hours played or whatever, but hey ho.

Can't wait to try this! Initial thoughts?

Great but annoying.

You need a probe body attached and can't let it out of physics range, if you want to recover spent stage, which makes it impossible, unless you can do STO.

But other than that I'm liking it.

Bt are here to fix broadband, so hopefully be able to see what mods work, want enhanced nav ball, interstellar, kas, kerbal alarm clock, b9 at minimum.

Not so keen on the testing parts one. Just seem to be there to fill it. I hope at some point they have failure rate and improbable specs, so doing testing improves these things.

Next update should focus on making some of the mods core. Like the mapping mod, alarm clock etc. And more importantly, I think it's time to add heat.

I'm finding some of the contracts confusing, like it will let you take a contract without having the parts avaliable which is a little annoying.

The testing ones are really frustrating too, took me ages to work out you can only pass them if you activate them during flight via staging.

Probably my fault for not reading it properly though. Oh and the B9 pack for me broke the game completely, i've gone back to stock for a while.

Yeah the testing ones you have to read carefully.

And haven't come across any I can't do, some have required odd craft. Like a two command pod craft to rescue someone. The testing ones, give you the part if you don't have it. only a few off them though.

Surely you can use a command line to sort it in steam? Although, tbh, with my hours played, it may be a tad embaressing to add more on it!!

Glaucus, it'll be here in your KSP folder (path dependant):

Slightly cheesed off that my KSP updated, could have sworn I set it to "do not update" in Steam.

Guess I'm going to have to reinstall, clear out the mod folder and reroll, as there's no way of really telling what's going to happen... Still at least I get to try out the 64bit version ;)

Still getting used to the testing contracts.

Use rockomax decoupler.
Satisfy
Kerbing
Splashed down

So assume launch craft, separate, capsule safely splashes down. Nope.
Splash craft down then activate decoupler.

So anyone who's struggling, or hasn't played it yet, member those parameters have to be satisfied at time of space bar pushing.

Been to Mun and Minmus so far, unlocked a fair bit. Really need to start going interplanetary, but haven't unlocked science lab yet, which I like having to really science whore.

And they need to balance the funding, it's insane, have more money than I know what to do with. Do three tests on one mission for like 100k, space craft costs like 12 to build.

I took the "test the MK16 parachute" job and could swear I deployed it at the designated altitude/speed. Thing is those were higher and faster than the 'chute is meant to deploy and it didn't complete the job for me.

As it happens one of the pop-open menus at the top right tells you if you're currently satisfying all of the requirements for each job, might be handy.

Sorry for the late reply. The download worked eventually, but while waiting for the servers to quiet down I got distracted when I got an incredibly good score on trials fusion. I'm finally getting a bit bored of trying to improve it so i've come back now :p

I didn't realise you could still transfer over to steam. I had a look into it a while ago but it seemed like it wasn't possible any more because of when I bought it. I don't actually want to transfer over because having a fresh install each time is quite helpful, especially if some of the mods are slow to update since it lets me play the old version with mods if i want to

Gotta remember we are pro's so its "easy" for us to make cost effective rockets. Some will constantly waste parts and money building huge rockets.
