Kerbal Space Program

So after seeing this challenge posted http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=574.0

I thought "Yeah easy" how wrong was I :o

Damn you OP! I have been addicted for days now! Just got my first rocket over 5,000 mps with 'standard' parts will post some vid's to youtube later!

Not sure if this has been posted but an amazingly useful tool here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=562.msg5237

Will calculate velocity required for different hight orbits, orbit manoeuvres and escape velocity.

So been messing around with this a fair bit as well recently, thought ide try to put a couple of rockets together and came up with this.

Didnt end so well.

With these big mega rockets, how does one join parts together in more than one place? ie, with a 3 long stages next to each other, they bend outwards, when ideally you would join them near the bottom as well so its a more solid structure....?

Yeh i currently have 4 tanks in a line, a tri coupler and then 6 tanks (3x2) then the 3 engines. thats solid, any longer and the engines push the fuel tanks on the tri coupler apart too much for my liking.

Im just finding that if i put a coupler on the side of the ship then add a long line of tanks/engines/boosters it flexi's so much it ends up smashing the ship up, or creates so much yaw that the rocket cant go straight. Ill post a picture of my latest "successful" rocket later. Its very unstable though due to its length :(

Currently in a nice stable almost round orbit:

Takes almost 50minutes to do ONE orbit at this alt!
