Kerbal Space Program

Downloaded the Kethane mod yesterday, decided I wanted something to do once up in space to give it some meaning. Figured mining kethane to convert into fuel (whilst requiring power) would make the solar panels useful for something other than a Buggy! Got a small probe scanning the surface of Minimus at the moment, then need to have a vehicle that lands to mine it, then another unit to convert it. Will probably make the converter a station docked with the original probe as it's easier to get to than landing a main rocket down on the moon and docking for fuel transfer!

For me I been exploring Duna for the last 3ish months. Sent isamap sats, then loads of landers (over30). Sent two rovers made with the old wheels and ion engines a week before they made rover wheels available. Now I'm building Duna ISS... I designed the parts and built one station at Kerbal to test parts. Then tweaked them for the Duna station.

The first manned flight was the fuel tank with a lander, however when I got there I didn't have enough fuel to land so they had to wait a while for the next parts and fuel tanks to arrive. Really annoying! More stages sent fuel up and I got my first manned landing since way back in the days before these bigger parts. Now I've also downloaded the kethane mod because transferring so much fuel will be annoying! Next plans will be more sections to hold more kerbals (7 so far) and base on the surface.

My Rover for driving around and extracting Kethane on Minimus / The Mun is ready and currently going through advanced trials on Kerbin. (ie I see how easily it breaks)

Had a few other designs which were less symmetrical, but it was a pain to make them flyable for landing at a later point.

Just got to figure out the best way of finding the right spot to land based on what I have already scanned with the probe currently orbiting...
Anyone got any experience with the Kethane mod?

What's with the one or the other choice?

It seems that the thinking is it stops people from just keeping the store copy and giving the steam code to a friend. But nobody really seems happy with it, and other devs in similar situations have just given you the code anyway so we'll see what happens.

Im now doing that GPS network, thanks for putting that up Glaucus. Will build this network while i wait for the launch window to send more fuel and kethane parts to my Duna station. What do you guys think, convert on the surface then fly the fuel up? or Fly the kethane up and convert at the space station?
