Kevin Space Invader

This is crazy. He made a mistake, totally inappropriate by all accounts probably drunk, but he didn’t pursue the kid any further or touch him, or rape. Now he has this award removed from him. I think it’s highly concerning that a mistake like this can kill the career of an incredibly gifted actor. Total trial by media. Seems like a dangerous road to go down.

Probably hence his slightly odd statement - owning up to what seems to be a bit of mixed signals and a poorly thought through moment that apparently didn't go anywhere would have just got him crucified in the current climate. When objectivity goes out the window the mob is not really any better than those on the rapey side.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other about what Mr. Spacey is alleged to have done or not done, but if I was a little known actor in an obscure soap or something today, I’d be terrified to go into a crowded pub.
I can just imagine that if I ever moved up to B or C list, someone would say “That Jean-F tapped my shoulder in the Dog and Duck years ago, and whispered suggestively, “Can I squeeze by and get to the bar?” “Totally inappropriate”

It's a shame he's being stripped of these things without any evidence or trial but I can't say I'm surprised, Lance Armstrong was still a terrific athlete and never actually failed a drugs test as far as I'm aware but went on to lose nearly everything. Once you get a label it's difficult to ever get away from it, and I'm guilty of exercising those thoughts on people too.

we don't know that he was given he was a drugs cheat, maybe he'd not have won so many events etc.. he'd presumably have still been competing internationally but aside from that we don't know

No, you're just trolling.
Oh please behave. A question was asked why he's not in jail. My point is that he's not (yet) been found guilty of anything.

Do you agree that an accusation should equal being guilty and sent to jail? Would you appreciate being sent to jail if someone accused you of a crime? Or would you prefer a decision based on a trial.

By keeping an open mind and not judging someone to be guilty without them being found guilty in a court, that somehow makes me a troll? That's some interesting mental gymnastics.

That wasn’t really my point, more that as soon as allegations are made you’re tainted, most of the others alongside Lance in the top 20 have times that align with doping but because they aren’t the figurehead of the sport he was they’ve avoided the mass public outrage.
