** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

Been on the fence about buying this as it looks fun, however, i don't have hours to game in one sitting, can anyone tell me.... if you wanted to jump on and play 30 minutes and jump out again, is that doable? Or does it require a bit more time investment to progress?

In classic fashion I've got this week off work, so I'm more tempted than ever, but i don't want to regret it by not having time to play it after this week.

I was thinking about this earlier.

It is a game that needs a couple of hours to sit down with in one session.

Not much can be achieved in small amounts of time.

But saying that, who cares! If you want to play the game you play it your way.

So don’t let that hold you back.

Well i guess what i mean more specifically, is if you have to dip out, can you "save where you stand" for example?

For example i've been playing Noita recently, and regardless of what's happening in a run, what's burning or exploding, i can quit to desktop instantly and wander of. Load back up, and im right where i left off. Whereas some games are a bit more restrictive than that, requiring you to save in set places etc.

Default saving can be restrictive but there are mods which loosen the requirements.

Lots of people use a mod called Unlimited saving (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/14) as the base game can be a bit of a pain to save sometimes.

Regarding time investment, i personally generally play when i know i have a few hours to get immeresed as you can easily play 30 mins and achieve nothing (in the sense of progressing). I know others in this thread have skipped KCD 1 but if you are unsure then maybe consider picking up KCD 1 as you can pick it up for £5 and in my opinion apart from QoL improvements and performance, it is still a fantastic game and the story, side quests etc are just as good as KCD 2.

Yes there is a save on exit option.

That's probably not a bad idea.

KCD2 being £40+ is a big investment if i find i can't get into it with the time commitments. I've not played KCD1, just getting caught in the excitement for KCD2. Will try out KCD1 and see if i can get a feel for it, hopefully by the time I'm done KCD2 will be on a sale :D

Just looked and when it's on sale you can buy it for £5 but just checked and its £27 on steam from Game key sites its about £15. If you do pick it up then i hope you enjoy it on your week off!
Just to add, the royal edition comes with all the DLC and in my opinion worth the extra couple of pounds.

Appears it's £6.69 on GOG right now, can't complain at that price! Thank you

It is doable, there is save and exit option, but the game is all about immersion so it is better to have at least an hour at a time.

KCD1 royal edition (all DLC) for £8 on cdkeys, I bought it last week.

Had a nice session tonight. Saved the old ladies daughter. She then asked me to kill someone, went and did that and stole his horse. Went and paid a some dude 220 silver to become the owner of it :D

The names in this game are not memorable at all to me. Only name apart from Henry is a girl called Ludmilla and I have no ******* idea who that is

Doesn't help i didn't play first 3-4 days i suppose, but still.

Oh and stealing horses can be profitable. Sold one for 500 and that is because that is all the money the trader had.

I might have to do a second save and be a thief Henry, my first playthrough is definitely mr good guy.

Although, I am about to paint a cow so maybe not.

Had a nice session tonight - did a prostitute, killed her from behind, stole 34 groschen off the body and knocked out the guard while escaping

I have just started over the weekend KCD1, I'm struggling a bit with it holding my interest and maybe haven't got very far. It should be something I should really enjoy as I love RPGs. What makes KCD2 different and why didn't you gel with the first one?
I think in part combat, they've tweaked it a little in the second, I can actually do it now and it feels more intruitive. Perhaps the biggest change was the story though, they do a great job of doing a recap and kicking it off at a more exciting pace, dragging you into the story. I found the first one a little "meh" if I'm honest.

I'd recommend you going back to it after you finish KCD2. You will know what to expect and the story/quests/immersion is also excellent there. Plus you get to see friendship with Hans evolving, and go binge drinking with Goodwin.

I did get through quite a bit of KCD1, got past the Godwin parts but then it sort of fell to bits, I never completed it despite being fairly well advanced into the story. Combat was a big problem for me, it just never clicked the way it has in the second one.

I am at the cumin camp. After having a chat with them, want to dispose of them all. But that would not be easy as quite a few of them.

Will try tonight.

An absolute joy to play and I really didn't gel with KCD1 despite trying, effortlessly enjoying this one though.

It's ok for people not like the first one , but like this one. It seems to be a relatively common sentiment, and there are good reasons for it
