** Kingdom Come : Deliverance 2 **

Part of me wishes I didn’t take the perk that unveils the map.

It breaks the sense of exploration and stumbling across things organically and I could use the dark areas of the map to show me where I haven’t been.

Now with the map uncovered I can see everything on the map and make a beeline for things I want to checkout immediately as well as it actually makes it harder now to know where I have and haven’t been because the map is fully uncovered.

The first is fantastic. I’ll say as well, it has a waaay better soundtrack than the 2nd

Edit.
Regarding the second game and a quest
the royal mint robbery quest holy moly what a game. Perfection.

I bought the first one for £8 with all DLC, but didn't enjoy it, woman's lot was terribly boring and made me uninstall. But reading this thread makes this second one sounds fantastic.
It took me about 3 attempts over the years to get into red dead redemption 2, tried it again middle of last year and ended up completing it and thinking it was brilliant.
Maybe KD1 is going to be like that for me.

Yeah that DLC was available at the wrong time IMO. I would recommend people looking to play the first game now before the 2nd would be to uninstall that particular DLC as it is too easy to start and with no way out other than going back to an older save file.

In fact, the only DLC from the first that is mandatory IMO is the Hans Capon one.

I really didn't enjoy the original base game much, I did kickstarter back it as I liked the idea etc but just couldn't get into it.

KCD2 is just miles better, combat is difficult to start with on your first playthrough, but once you get into the combat system it's good fun. The plot and storytelling elements e.g. acting/voices etc are top class.

Things you haven't actually discovered by going there are greyed out on the map. They then become coloured icons when you visit them for the first time.

It really is an amazing game. Easily one of the best if not best RPGs I've ever played. They've done a fantastic job, the world is beautifully rendered and designed, the characters are great, the quests and the story have been so good so far, and the gameplay is fantastic. Some of the quests are laugh-out-loud funny. I was in stitches at one of them that I did in Kuttenberg this morning!

Kuttenberg is ridiculous. Most impressive medieval RPG city to date. Truly next level from Novigrad.
I love that I can see people going around all the way in the distance, no god damn pop-in like in Dragon's Dogma 2, and everyone is simulated, no fake cardboards like in TW3.

And the few quests I have done here so far have all been so good. The one with helping bathhouse owner set up her business - when was the last time a videogame asked you if you prefer bosoms or bottoms? Would any american or british writer even dare to put such a philosophical debate into their game?

Also, minstrel haircut plus beard combo ftw

And last but not least, I wish more games used SVOGI. It looks so freaking good, while being a fraction as demanding as raytraced GI.

Yeah I never take that perk. I love uncovering the map by playing.

Similarly I wish I didn't take the perk that makes you run faster. Feels like I'm playing Doom now.

Had my first experience with not paying attention to the save system.

Only early on but got to the point where you are set free on the map to explore. Plodded about for about an hour doing a few bits, went quite far. Got killed and lost it all :D

Lesson learnt.

It's hard to adjust to a game that leaves a lot up to the player (a good thing), just need to get used to that pacing and lack of direction. I think I'll go find Mutt first and do stuff that may pop up along the way organically.

Install the save mod and spam F5 to your hearts content :p

I don't have time to lose progress made so that's what I did :D

Henry saviour schnapps is one of the easiest recipies in the game, gives experience points and can be sold if you are in a pinch. Honestly don't see the need for this mod.

Add water, add eyebright, add sage, don't boil, grind or distill. Just pour as long as they are in that order you should nail it.

I actually had to clear out my saved games folder as there seems to be an upper limit to how many save files you can have..
