This game has got my interest. It's been a long while since I've had a decent RPG to get stuck into.

-Can you quicksave?
-Is it best played with a controller?

Can't quicksave, but you can quick travel to your bed and sleep - which saves. Or you can drink an alcoholic beverage which saves where you are.
Keyboard/mouse is absolutely fine.

Can quicksave anytime with a modded file.

Or: Do quests, sleep in your own bed, lodging.

Thanks, while I love a good RPG, I got sick of the old style FF having to complete a 1 hour+ stint without a save or have to repeat. Quick save makes long missions tolerable when I've got distractions.

Presumably if you're on a long trek this is sub optimal as it means you have to start the journey again.

I find the game is smoother and easier with controller, it just feels all round better to me, combat is certainly massively easier on controller. When I need to lockpick, then I grab the mouse and keyboard, makes it so much easier.

And quicksaves nope, as other pointed out above, there are mod files though which enable you to save without having snapps.

oh and get it...this for me is GOTY potential.

Was reading on Reddit that the game is hard locked to 300 saves.

After that, no more saves.

Hope that gets fixed quick.

I think I will get it, I haven't scratched my open world RPG itch for a looong time, and I've always been a fan of the cryengine since back in the crysis beta.

Right, you know that annoying "blue blur" you get when sprinting into low Stamina? I found the .dds responsible for it.

Going to see if it can be removed/edited to be blank so it's just the sound, or at least the trigger.

I like the sound of this game - But I've read it's pretty buggy at the moment.

I read that there is going to be a big patch in 2 weeks time - Is that right?

Yes bug fixes and lock picking are all getting redone shortly. If you don't like major bugs wait till the big patch is my suggestion
