Yep was lock picking when I went from 60fps - 4fps - 60fps was a good 2 seconds, needless to say I failed and nearly broke down.
It didn't happen to me before the patch IIRC.

You can escape from Talberg without being a Thief though. Incase you want figure it out yourself I'm putting it in spoliers.
On the bridge, just jump down but run quickly, guards will be chasing you (although you might be able to convince him to let you go in the conversation options)
Have you tried Settings => Game Settings => the unticking In Game Chatter Subtitles ??
On another note, and might be worth copying to the front page @Paul_cz ?? After fleeing Talberg, down in the village there is a Inn where you can sleep. If you rent a room for a night (even if game wont let you sleep yet) then you can put items in the chest there, and once the prelude is finished and you waking up all stuff will be in the chest there.
Had a travel encounter last night.
Sneaked away from the encounter (a person just waiting on the track) and hid by a bush as the alert told me it was a fight and Henry is a suspicious young fella.
Then noticed 2 rogueish types hiding behind another bush. Avoided an ambush and killed the bandits. The decoy legged it.
Sneaky buggers them NPCs.

Woke up a bit earlier to get a session in before work. Today's bug is no lock picking as the sweat spot is blank!
So I wandered about a bit and found another "accident" i.e. a pit of semi-burned and mutilated corpses including horses. Got me two fine arrows though sticking in one corpse. Yesterdays accident was a couple of people hanging from a tree. Very accident prone these Bohemians! Almost got robbed while rubber necking them though.
Tried to attack a camp of bandits and got beat off. Had to ride to the nearest tavern to get bandages. Got distracted by a hunting side quest so shot a boar and humped 200 pounds/chunks/units back to the tavern but he wanted venison. Arrgh! Should have asked more questions.
Now trying to rob an old geezer of 20g to pay back his debt to an old whore! The things you have to do to survive.

Yeah a couple of rogues put a barrier across a road at one point to slow up riders.
Ok, just saw a link to some interesting photos from ingame. Be aware though it is an Easter Egg (think you call it that?) and if you want experience it yourself probably shouldn't be looking, but found it to funny as not to share to those of you that's not to bothered. Wont give away the location by looking at them though.
OK, so was playing a bit before going to work, walking along the road, picking some plants and suddenly... the game glitched on me.. 
Later have to "walk" past and see if it happens again, if so try and send them a location. First major glitch for me though, after 9 hours playtime.
At least it's a pretty view from there..

Ok I’m stuck .. can’t escape valerian to bury parents, need a guards uniform but not enough cash to buy a lock pick to steal one .. sold everything to trader but he ran outta coin I even went round punching the chickens and selling meat to the cook .. still not enough coin

I just stole a load of stuff, got put in prison and ended up outside the gates.

I stole a bow and arrow .. but trader didn’t have enough coin to buy it .. plus I stole it from guard tower so he prolly wouldn’t buy it lol

Nope, but most likely after you buried your parents, I have not been back yet after I "escaped" from there.
There is a set of armour you can steal in a trunk in one of the towers that doesn`t need lock picking..Happy to tell you which one if you cant find it.

Yes please .. I looked at 5 chests and all needed lockpicking
Go to the courtyard and up the stairs to the second door, go inside and left to the end and out of the door on your left. You will be on a walkway along the outer wall. Walk along to the tower and go inside. Go up the ladder and there will be a chest in there that doesn`t need lock picking
