Kingdom Come: Deliverance / Open-World RPG / Medieval History

I figured out a pretty simple way to leave the castle haha...if this was a certain kind of crappier invisible borders game it would not have worked.

But i cant play this game right now because the freezes and hitchin is ridiculous

when i went into the console i was a bit surprised to see this....i have a 4 gig 1080 ...you what? Says 8 gig on the box what the actual?

Stumped with the freezes and hitchin. Reduced everything to medium and it helped a bit but still get them i'm not gonna dignify the 1080 by sticking everything on low because thats taking the ****

already tried

** task manager high priority set for KCD - didnt seem to do anything
** in steam properties launch options set the heapsize to 2098756 or something for 16 gig ram
** closed quit all the usual stuff antivirus, reduced win7 to basic (ie switched off aero)
I switched off aero because one time when i quit KCD it said win7 reduced resources available and to maybe change to windows 7 basic scheme.

Anything else i can try apart from upgrading to win 10 (which seems to have fixed the freezing for some) or i can just accept i have a really ****** gpu :(

Go to the courtyard and up the stairs to the second door, go inside and left to the end and out of the door on your left. You will be on a walkway along the outer wall. Walk along to the tower and go inside. Go up the ladder and there will be a chest in there that doesn`t need lock picking :)
Brill thx

Does it show that for everyone or faulty gpu? 4gb is pretty low for todays standards, might hurt performance.

cpu-z utility says 8 gig so im assuming its either an error by KCD or its locked to only using 4 gig???

As far as i know this is the way to report bugs with KCD currently

@Surfer Not sure if it matters, but vsync is on by default. Can be turned off in with console command though. Was something like "r_VSynk=0" or such. Check nexus, someone done a mode but also posted the console command. On mobile so limited time to search for it.

yeah i tried that didnt help though my max fps went up to 76 sometimes but fps isnt that stable.

Reported on their bug forum i will also try different nvidia drivers. Im using the 390.77 ones...

Cool will try that will they let u back in ?

I jumped down not thinking about the being held prisoner part and suddenly heard the guards shouting :)

I think you can just ride off it too.

Yes they will take you back so no problem trying.

I also accidentally punched my horse in the arse and the guards really don't like animal cruelty!

If you're wondering how deep the realism goes, like myself, check this taken from Reddit (not linking due to swearies)

So i decided to stargaze on my first night after the prologue, looking North, and there they were, the big dipper and Polaris and all the stars that i would expect to be around those, altough it is slighty offset to the east as Polaris is not straight North but N-NE'ish. https://i.imgur.com/hQYClpT.jpg

I took the opportunity to grap Stellarium and check the night sky in Prague on the 1st of August 1403 at around midnight (the game is set in the summer) and yes, it matches perfectly, at least from what i check. I'll check for planets tomorrow, but we should be able to see Saturn and Mars low on the horizon side-by-side to the Southwest and Venus also low on the horizon to the NE, between castor and polux and and a partially visible Orion constellation.

Kudos Warhorse!

How are people finding the game. Enjoyable or better off waiting to pick this up once bugs are sorted? I've read various conflicting views elsewhere.

Enjoyable. I've not found any game breaking bugs in 15 hours of playing. In fact the only things so far has been some collision issues which were resolved by crouching to walk up some stairs in one location and a ladder that i couldn't climb. Managed it eventually though.

So far, fewer bugs than any other new game I've played.

The door needs a lock pick :(

Things aren't always the same in this game Andrew - they're presented differently for different players depending on the events leading up to where you are currently. Also, have patience - it's entirely possible that door you're walking to will be accessed by an NPC sometime, who will perhaps leave it open, or just not lock it afterwards.

There are so many ways to achieve what you want, especially later in the game. At the beginning, it was rather more constrained but there were still options.

Come across my first instance of not being allowed to kill someone - got into a fight in Ush1tz and I wasn't allowed to strike the innkeeper with a weapon. Came up with a cross whenever I tried.

I thought the idea was that if you killed someone, that was that, and the mission relating to them just wouldn't be possible later on?

Woke up a bit earlier to get a session in before work. Today's bug is no lock picking as the sweat spot is blank !

So I wandered about a bit and found another "accident" i.e. a pit of semi-burned and mutilated corpses including horses. Got me two fine arrows though sticking in one corpse. Yesterdays accident was a couple of people hanging from a tree. Very accident prone these Bohemians! Almost got robbed while rubber necking them though.

Tried to attack a camp of bandits and got beat off. Had to ride to the nearest tavern to get bandages. Got distracted by a hunting side quest so shot a boar and humped 200 pounds/chunks/units back to the tavern but he wanted venison. Arrgh! Should have asked more questions.

Now trying to rob an old geezer of 20g to pay back his debt to an old whore! The things you have to do to survive.

Slight edit, reading between the lines, you cheeky rogue! Certainly enjoying yourself, eh? :p

Had a quick go last night, looks very pretty but I need to get a working SLI profile as 1440p ultra @ <50fps isn't enough for me. Got my **** handed to me trying to get the debt repaid. Then accidentally punched someone who got in my way which started a downward spiral from there.

I think due to the mechanics of the game this is a Witcher 3 beater....ok I haven't played a lot of KCD and haven't finished W3 however my reason is that KCD is a proper RPG with proper realism. I'm so glad Warhorse made and were successfuly (500k sales already) with this format. The detail and the complexities in this are another level for pc open world RPGs imo.

Reminds me a bit of vampire masquerade bloodlines .. that was also bugridden too

Once optimized and bugs fixed GOTY easy :D

Cheers. Leaning toward picking this up next week.
