Kingdom Come: Deliverance / Open-World RPG / Medieval History

What resolution are you playing at with the 1080ti? I'm going to be picking up on fairly soon I think but only to play at 1080p for now.

On my rx480 I'm using all on ultra except for shadows (medium) and shaders (high). I get around 50fps at 2560x1080. It doesn't usually drop lower than about 40. For some reason though the game only seems to use 4gb vram :/

The game looks amazing though. It's amazing how much small detail is in the forests for a big open world game. It's just a shame the world feels a bit lifeless outside of towns. There needs to be some traffic on the roads, NPCs out gathering wood, hunting, etc.

Anyway. Combat starts to get so much easier once you get better with the bow. Just one shot them in the face as they run at you lol

This is a really special game, to the point where I struggle to see how bethesda could challenge it with their next elder scrolls. It's jaw droppingly pretty closer to photo relaism than we've seen before and does a good job of remaining immersive.

Finished the prologue yesterday, and I'm going to have to start the new section again after going to the big town, selling everything I could to buy an weapon (I miss my dad's sword already), and then realising my strength was 3 levels to low to use it effectively. Still not sure whether to do the grave robbing quest again or not, but I'm not going back in that direction until I've got a half decent weapon as the 3 bandits have done me over twice now.

Anyone here with a 1070 at 1440p? How does the game run?

I only had a very short time on Friday with the game i set the overall graphics settings to very high, then turned down a few settings like shadows and managed to get it to between 55 and 70.

my 1070 is overclocked if that helps

Couple of amusing bugs last night. First of all I broke my horse:

Then I found an alchemy station where if you start using it you slowly rise into the air. Quickly I found myself hovering miles above the ground. Sadly when I exited the station I plummeted to my death :D

You really need to be nicer to your horse, he can't do forward rolls you know ! :p

And I seen that bug too, happened after you finished a quest or first time you used it ?? When I saw it on a stream it was after the streamer finished a quest and then went and used the alchemy station. On the other hand, you get one hell of a view from up there !! ;) :p

I've only used the station at the monastery which doesn't have an elevator lol.

That's another thing, too. Everyone moaning about the save system. Once you learn how to use the alchemy table just make loads of schnapps and you're set...

I just use the save mod. If the game was bug free then I'd be fine with the existing system but it's just not worth the risk at the moment in the state it's in. Some quests are incredibly buggy.

The Nightingale one in particular, I've caught two of them but no matter what I do the 3rd cage vanishes as soon as I place it and wait a while :(

90% of the time for me falling short from not saving is normally because I'm getting my arse handed to me in the woods by Cumans or bandits lol. Crafting Schnapps gives you three every time, and they're easy enough to make, so I just don't see what the big deal is. Unless, of course, you forget to craft some ; D

Told ya how special it is. Its hugely better than both Skyrim and Witcher 3, even at this point with its bugs. Its the best RPG I've ever played and I've been dozens and dozen over the 25 years or so I've been gaming.

That all just sounds incredibly tedious :p ;)

its called immersion and detail and a proper game for intelligent adults lamo, now go back to your games for 10 year olds and continue with that simple button mashing QTE BS :p:D

Was so excited to finish work 30 minutes ago to get home and settle down for the long haul today :). Mrs wont be home till 6:30pm, lets get stuck in again. :)

The strength thing will be an issue throughout, such as for bows with draw weights too great for your current level so the arrow is let loose without control. You just have to find weapons that match your current level by reading their and your stats. It's a bit annoying when you find a beastly weapon only to be told you'll be crap with it by that pop-up message, but does make perfect sense.

It wouldn't really be an issue if I had somewhere to stash items I'm not ready to use yet, but I haven't yet so anything surplus to requirements is a big drain on my carrying capability.

Stash them in a chest somewhere and remember its location? I don't think things get nicked out of them or despawn. Play it safe and store them in one of the 'shared' chests that can be found by any bed you can sleep in to save game - the items within are 'shared' across the map with all such chests (or so the game claims, I've not tested it).
