After 4 hours I very almost gave up due to a couple of quest breaking bugs in this. I rolled back a save or two and persevered, and very glad I did. The questing alone in Deliverance is some of the best you'll find. The quality of the cut scenes, motion capture, rendering and the voice acting...
Just a few of the reasons why Deliverance really shines. Alchemy is gritty, yet intuitive enough that you can get to grips with it fairly quickly. It's not without it's issues, but after 30+ hours (total game time, not play-through time) after my rolling back I've not experienced anything game breaking, or in fact any bugs beyond having difficulty traversing some stairs. The combat mechanic once understood, is well balanced. Managing to stumble and strike your opponent actually feels rewarding.
Performance on a 1080Ti with everything maxed leaves somewhat to be desired, but it will be addressed. It's not the sort of game that requires super high frame rates. Visually, the object and vegetation LOD is better than anything that comes to mind currently.
For me, this is right up there with Skyrim and Witcher 3, and IMO it's probably better than the former at this stage. There's so much to cover it's amazing reviewers have managed to score it yet, but it deserves all the praise it gets.
