Kingston SSD Deal. Very sweet!!

What would be the "best" SSD for just having a OS and a few games to run on it, nothing else, not used for anything else apart from OS and games.
Does this compete with the samsung 830? is it better?

What testing / results determines what makes a good SSD good?.

ones where the data your reading.writing isnt like this
123456

as on your SSD real world data is going to be fragmented all over the place so its going to end up spread across your ssd more like this
316425

making random reads/writes and access time king

The OP doesn't suggest it's anything other than just the drive.

Most SSDs are sold that way unless stated otherwise.

I'm merely suggesting that with increased traffic on the site due to this deal, OCUK might aswell put the OCZ ssd upgrade kit next to it to shift some of those aswell

'FYI The V200 is faster in all bar 1 test thatn the v+200 as the v+200 is based on the sandforce controller'

Make your minds up, can anyone agree which is best out of the two?

so which one is good for gaming and faster at booting W7 ?

======================================================

FYI The V200 is faster in all bar 1 test thatn the v+200 as the v+200 is based on the sandforce controller.

Personally if funds allow and outright speed is required then I would only go with the M4 or samsung 830.

If you are looking at budget get the Kingston V200 (not v+200).

This gives a good comparison of various drives:

can't see a comparison between V200 and V+200

Wow!

If faster means less numbers then your on to a winner! Tested your theory, flawed does not even begin to describe the results.

i'm put off buying this drive now because if the last chart is anything to go by then it is significantly slower than my crucial m4 128Gb.

It's a 120gb for less than £60. Stat this and bench that blah blah it's a good drive for the price. The Crucial M4 is £95 so there is no comparison.

The M4 can be had for less and has been as low as £75 if you look around. It would have been nice to see some benches for this drive in the op.

Thats the V200 mate, not the V+200

The Chap who posted this post posted V200 results and tried to claim that its faster than the V+200  One obscure result showing a test that doesnt represent true to life performance does not constitute for a slow drive being quicker than a fast one.

The V+200 found in this thread HERE shows that it is faster than all similar drives such as the Agility 3, S510, Force 3 etc and is most cases seems to trade blows with the likes of the Vertex 3 and S511 etc

its in a completely different league to the V200.
