In seee that the German police are as keen on using weird descriptors as their UK and US counterparts...

Solingen - dead and injured at the town festival! On Friday at around 9.40 p.m. a man in Solingen randomly stabbed several partygoers with a knife. The perpetrator, according to witnesses an Arab-looking man, is on the run. The police have not officially confirmed the witness statement at first, but are now talking about a southern-looking perpetrator.

Is that an official translation or a machine translation...

A lot of translation doesn't necessarily work without a human who not only knows the basics of the language, but the slang, secondary and specialist uses of the language.
Given the page appears to be in German I'm guessing it might be a failure of whatever machine translation is in use.

The translation "southern looking" doesn't appear off but it does appear to have been used as a Germanic euphemism for people from Turkey, the middle east, north Africa etc in other cases.

I was right. Foreign war justification for the stabbings. Not sure why Germany has anything to do with Israel and Palestine. But they love hurting innocent people for the sins of others.

Please don't be racist, we have to accept that this is now just part of living in the west, so many were and still are so desperate to build this paradise for us, just think of the increase in the economy and it will all be better (but don't look at the workforce statistics or output rates and GDP per capita).

I for one can't wait for Sharia, I just hope it doesn't land me in bother with Dear Leader Schtarmers new planned terrorism misogyny laws.

Südlander would be best translated into English as "Middle Eastern" in this context, I think. People from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, etc. could be described as Südlander.

They don't want to confirm what everyone is thinking.

We have migrants committing the sort of violent crimes we never used to see in Europe, especially towards random people. Them government and most of the media trying to keep a lid on it. It's only going to fuel the far right.

What about that Norwegian dude who shot people and then detonated a bomb in 2011?

I find what people tend to have a selective bias to remember what they want to remember. A week after the Southport incident there was a white dude with a knife in London…..I don’t think there was a thread here. The guy that stopped him….he had an Arab name!

Then there was Timothy McViegh before all this, who was one of the biggest terrorist.

Neither were part of any organised groups, so it is not like I used the IRA as an example, which people will no doubt argue “that is different”….different enough to use bombs on random innocence?

People remember what they want to remember.

No one appears to remember the IRA or our other massacres such as dunblane. These things have happened throughout time - it just appears to be a certain demographic at the moment primarily as a result of our foreign policy.
