Korean Grand Prix 2011, Yeongam Circuit - Race 16/19

HAHAHA that's one way to stop the car Rosberg :)

Fron Mike Gascoyne
"First car on slicks, hit at the pit exit. Rosberg running with the right front on top of his front wing and not turning, not seen that before"

I heard all of FP2, it was damp and stopped raining, but didn't change much when it got to the 'greasy' semi-dry part, so only in the last few mins did cars go out on slicks, which struggled a lot. So in short, no dry running.

Just watching FP1 now on Red Button, 46mins left. Such a shame to see how little has changed from last year, as mentioned further up the page.

Mclaren front wing shown just now looks great, very detailed.

McLaren looking strong again. RB in trouble next year I reckon.

Amazing saves from both Vettel and Shumi.

I don't know why, but this track always feels like it is in the absolute middle of nowhere. Reckon we will have more than 2 men and a goat spectating this year? :p

'Always feels like' as in the one time it has only actually been used for an F1 race?

The fact is it actually is in the middle of nowhere, the hope is the city builds up around it, which it will over the next few years, but leaves us looking at a bunch of rice fields for now. Not great admittedly. The race is apparently a complete sell out. Lets hope the people can actually get to their seats before race time on Sunday!

As in everytime I watch it on TV e.g. 3 practice sessions, quali and the race :p

They keep claiming these "cities" will build up around the tracks - will it happen by the time Berni decides he wants F1 elsewhere? Probably not. Many of these claims are simply a way for the government to sell F1 to the locals.

I doubt no Korean voted to have an F1 track built locally (a few possibly as an up yours to the Japanese) No sir, this was fully a government/business/Bernie level decision to move some money around, lots and lots and lots of money with lots of scope for bribes at that!

Tickets sold out this year, so its only quiet on Friday.
sold out or given out?
How long does it normally take the Beeb to get FP2 highlights up?

McLaren usually end the year well. But at a sacrifice to next years car. We'll see.

Exactly. They develop the car right up until the last minute while other teams (Ferrari most recently) abandon their current cars 3/4 the way through the season to focus on next years. Red Bull have this year in the bag already so don't need to push at all, merely go through the motions while focusing totally on next year.
