Large Hadron Collider

Everything is basically being compressed into a singularity though, so it's a lot of matter being compressed into an extremely small space all at the same time. The gravitational force is huge.

As explained in the wiki link:

Yeah but this is just space stretching we're talking about, its a dimension therefore how can the matter within be stretched and broken when its the space itself stretching and matter is merely within it, its like time dilation, its perceived as normal within although in this case as we perceive all 3D space instead of just linear like time, we may well see stretching but the dangerous effects shouldn't happen, past the event horizon you might start entering time space, the inversion of space time, where time can be moved around just like we can in space, space may or may not be linear there.

I'm not gonna say if it is or isn't possible. As I said, we dunno for sure. It's the best explanation right now though. You might be right, you might not be.

Getting back to the topic at hand, it's not really relevant anyway because, as stated in the LSAG report, even if black holes don't evaporate we wouldn't ever see any impact of their creation anyway.

I am pretty sure that the engineers and scientists who are making and running the LHC have a much better idea of what will happen than us ;)

There was a paper written on time becoming a dimension like space, forgot what its called now but i suspect it would go some way to explaining what time space would be like.

Just thought id mention one of the blokes i work with picked up the LHC over the weekend on his vlf meter. He heard a pulse every hour for several hours in the 3KHz-30KHz range starting Saturday, wasnt sure exactly what it was as it was nothing he had detected before until he worked out it was the LHC. It started off as a low hum then went higher until it kind off peaked and stop (kinda like something energizing then releasing), he is going to send me it as a mp3. Were assuming the noise was the coils being energized, not bad for over 400 miles away, hes going to wait for more info just to make sure.

Can you check because I seem to have lost several items in the past few hours, I fear they may have been consumed by a rogue black hole, I've checked everywhere for them and actually handled one of the items shortly before it vanished.

What? Time is as much a dimension as space. To specify any event, you need (wrt local coordinates on earth) latitude, longitude, altitude and a time.

There's lots of post 5 pint pub talk going on here!

yeah but not lead, protons frist

Protons on Ocotber 21st. First beam on September 10th.

Doubt we'll see lead ions until next year anyway. Plus it won't be anywhere near the energy that the protons are being collided
