too expensive? your spending £500 on watercooling and the mdpc braid is too expensive! :p

I said it was too expensive :p

And I'm not spending £500. I'm spending £700!!! :D:p

I remember when rjkoneill said this:

taken from the last x58 revision before a lot of it was removed for my sandybridge rebuild.

Watercooling

EK Supreme CPU Block - £60
EK Supreme Nickel mounting hardware - £5
EK Gigabyte X58 UD7 NB+Mosfet Kit - £100
EK FC-480 Nickel Plexi Waterblock -£80
EK FC-480 Nickel Backplate - £20
EK Single Slot bracket for 480 - £5
Swiftech Laing D5 Vario MCP655 12V DC Pump - £75
Bitspower D5 Matt Black Mod Kit - £45
Bitspower D5 V2 Pump Top - £30
EK Multioption Reservoir 250 rev.2 - £40
ThermoChill PA120.4 Quad - 480 (15mm) - £90
Thermochill PA120.2 Dual - 240 (15mm) - £60
120.4 rad stand - £20
120.2 rad stand - £15
4 Meters 7/16 Tygon - £30
2X Litre Mayhems Fluid - £12
Lamptron FC2 Fan Controller - £25
6 Xigmatek Blueline XLF 120mm Fans - £36

Bitspower
20X Bitspower Black Sparkle G1/4" High Flow 7/16" ID 5/8" OD Compression Fittings - £130
4X Bitspower Black Sparkle 45 degree Rotary G 1/4 adapter - £36
3X Bitspower Black Sparkle G1/4 - 90 Degree Rotary Adapter - £27
2X Bitspower Black Sparkle G 1/4 - 90 Degree Dual Rotary Adapter - £26
6X Bitspower Black Sparkle G1/4" Stop Fitting - £18

Total - £985

that doesnt include parts swapped out or any cable braiding, but this is a rough idea. no modded or custom parts included in the list to keep it simple.

total overkill and focussed on aesthetics but it can get like that.

you dont need to go to that extreme, but spending money on the right stuff is important.

Then I was flabbergasted. I never thought one could spend so much on liquid cooling. Now I realise it's easy to. I've already bought about £60 of stuff so will be spending quite a bit. Obviously i'm spending less than him on the blocks and less on fittings, however i'm not too far away from spending that much. The only thing stopping me is my bank balance (please buy my stuff - somebody, anybody!)

well I've been looking at some macbooks between £300 and £400, hopefully I'll get enough after selling my xbox and the money I get for my exam results.

I have no idea where I could get a job apart from helping my dad which will be hard work :p

the only thing that annoys me when I do have money though as my dad won't let me spend lots on my pc :p

may just have to help him then, although he says he has no work to do after this week

Unlucky!
I have soooo much work to do ATM!!!
Have you ever tried working whilst replying to 13 people at once? Gets pretty hectic!

and who says men can't multitask? :p

I just wish I would be able to make some money building pcs :p

problem is DSR returns, RMA's and consumer law + paypal getting in the way.
Let me put it this way. You get a client asking for a computer with i7 extreme, 590 SLI and 580 for physx. They pay via paypal and you order everything and after 8 days you've built it. You send it to them. First thing they do is return it under DSR saying they've changed their mind.

Nothing you can do and you can't exactly sell it again as nobody will buy it!!!
It would be as painful as shoving the 590's up your butt!!
