Point remains on a technical level and ive said this before to date no other console racing game has 16 cars, 60 frames, in 720p.
GT5P manages that and does it at a RESOLUTION 1.5x greater than 720p
Thing about Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is that the cars and interiors looked great, the rest of the game looked bland.
I wonder how many people have ever driven a race car or at least a fast car on a track? Many games such as NFS, grid etc give a false sense of speed that in real life doesnt exist, thats why many sim games look slow as they are actually more realistic, its all realtive in the end. The video has been chopped around quite a bit aswell prob will be better to get proper capture footage from IGN/1UP.
Is that better, ive always had credit for PD in achieving this 2 years ago yet other devs still havnt, quite staggering really.
They are remarkable developers. I wish there was a similar team on the 360 to really push the system![]()

Looks like only certain cars will recieve damage. Odd.

faithfully reproducing the behavior of electric cars, i.e. Prius, Insight, hybrid cars and the latest Tesla
Wow, already lost me at this point...
Why would I want to play what is supposed to be the pinnacle of racing simulation games in a hybrid electric taxi?
Why are they even bothering with cars that nobody would want to drive?

IGN editor Ryan Clements entered the GamesCom show floor this morning, and headed straight for the Gran Turismo booth. After admiring the game’s new damage features, he got to talk with Kazunori Yamauchi and asked him to clarify some of the questions that were raised yesterday. As many expected, not all of the cars in the game will feature damage:
“The next detail Kazunori touched on was regarding damage models. I can confirm that not every car in Gran Turismo 5 will sport damage models — it will only be select sets. However, Kazunori has yet to decide on a finalized list of featured car types for damage support.”
That’s consistent with Yamauchi’s previous comments, when he mentioned that only “race cars” could be damaged in the game. Unfortunately, he also confirmed that Porsche have chosen not to join the Gran Turismo series, signing an “exclusive arrangement” with other parties. That’s strange, though, because we already know that Porsche’s cars will be in both the upcoming Forza 3 and Need for Speed: Shift - games made by two different publishers. It looks like the mystery surrounding Porsche and their involvement (or lack thereof) with the GT series will continue to puzzle us fans for quite some time. Perhaps, one day, we will learn the full story…
