Not to play down the slavery aspect of this as they certainly enslaved a lot of Europeans but, wasn't the Barbary and Ottomans, iirc the Moorish too, mainly Muslims and Arabs rather than "black people"?

They were generally Africans.

I have no idea. I'm just learning from all of this Cleopatra fall out that if the person was from Africa they must be black and therefore must be portrayed by a black actor.

People like Laura are pretty much the worst kind of people and the most dangerous. With her attitude and her ability to publicise, causes equality to regress by 100 years.
People like her cause conflict and divide as we are seeing now.
Preserving your history and identity is important as a group, these polices are designed to fragment a society and cause major disruption.
Sometimes I wonder if this has been caused by the Russians and Chinese going by the way they treat people.
All in all we are heading towards decline.
As I said the cold war never ended, it just turned into a different war.
