I'll read it as him having the integrity to stand for what he believes in against the braying mob of cancel culture and hard left nonsense.
He could have continued on with a comfortable career, he chose to stand for his beliefs.
It's a shame more people don't do the same.

I cant wait for the time when the TV channels feel the need to ban all the shows he has been in once he starts doubling down on the rhetoric.
It must be slightly heart destroying when the people around you start to drop you like hot cakes when you reveal your real inner self. Maybe he is just having a midlfe crisis and will look back at this time as the most embarrassing mistake he has ever made.
Maybe this is all just research for a role he is about to play. Method acting. What sort of part Im not sure, maybe Farage the early years or something.
His point is it's long been known in leftist circles like Hollywood anyone who isn't left leaning basically struggles to find work, yet they call other people fascists. The left is all about conformity and Hitler and Mussolini were socialists before they got branded as fascists, they didn't suddenly just go to the opposite side of the spectrum.

He wasnt a big enough star to air his real personality. Its a bit like Boys where all the heros were arsehats in real life. Infact his career was a bit like the end of Boys series two.
If he had been Mel Gibson he would still be golden.

The only political spectrum that's not a fiction has totalitarianism on one side and anarchy on the other, you need a limited government to prevent anarchy and give some semblance of freedom (otherwise murder and theft would be rampant) but at the end of the day the Nazi party controlled everything in Nazi Germany, they allowed private ownership but business owners were basically just caretakers for the state and did what they were told to do, it wasn't free market capitalism. They were totalitarian.
Tell me how you can have a Nazi party (Fascism) with a small government that's limited in its power? you can't it's on the same end as socialism and communism (collectivist/totalitarian/anti-capitalist). Most of the people who get called far right today are just people who have a difference of opinion to the collectivist/conformist left.
Far right and far left are interchangeable as they are meaningless, all that matters is how much of a role you want government to have in your day to day life as an individual and how much personal autonomy you want. The western allies in WW2 fought for limited government/individual freedom against totalitarianism, the Soviet's (another totalitarian regime) were just fighting for survival/dominance in the same way similar western democracies can come to blows.
