Laurence Fox

Also regarding Laurence Fox, I don't mind him normally, I agree with him on some issues, it just seemed really unnecessary to say what he did on GB News; he just undermined himself and drowned out any valid points he may have had by being crass and sexist.
30 seconds after I first heard him I'd already realised he's just a bit of a puppet, not that bright, not that articulate and seemed to be getting caught up in things that he lacked intellect to really deal with, and no surprise he's gone off the rails.

I didn't mind when he was championing some common sense cases of free speech etc, but couldn't ever see him as someone leading that cause, and as he started trying to do that it seemed obvious it wasn't going to end well.

I'm also glad to see Dan Wooton embroiled in all this, that's another low intellect load mouth that does more harm than good..

And whilst I can tolerate bits of GB News, blimey it has a huge amount of low intellect people that I can't listen to for more than 30 seconds.. Dewberry being another standout.

Such as

In 2019 Jo Brand joked about throwing acid over Nigel Farage on the BBC - No further action.

In 2020 Sophie Dukes joked about killing white people on Frankie Boyle's New World Order - No further action.

In 2020 Miriam Margolyes said she wanted Boris Johnson to die on live TV while he was seriously ill with COVID - No further action.

Did the same people calling for GB News to be shut down call for the BBC and Channel 4 to be shut down?

Of course they didn't. The double standards are utterly staggering.

Although I agree with the sentiment about #legacymedia I think those things were said by comedians on comedy shows, which is quite a different context to Fox's GBnews moment. I believe things declaring themselves as news (is this an official thing?) might well be subject to different rules? Not sure.

The key difference for me is that there seems to be a large, highly politically motivated group of people that want GB news to die and will take any opportunity to make this happen. I don't think this exists in the same way for the BBC or Sky, there seems fair criticism of them and the general call is for the behaviour to change rather than for their complete destruction.

I've only seen a short clip of what Ava said on the BBC Politics show, so based on that, when asked about a Minister for Men she didn't "dismiss it". She made an alternative suggestion that said about about having a Minister for mental health rather than having gender based ministers

That is a valid suggestion. Fox, and others following the narrative, are acting like she was negatively dismissive. She wasn't.

I have heard that Fox got pre-approval for targeting Ava, though they didn't know the words he'd use. I'm not sure if this is true information?

As for cancelling GBNews, all the bigots are coming out of the woodwork to jump on and excuse.
