Laurence Fox

Id love some posters here to try and defend Ava Santina Evans toxic misandrist views.

Saying that I'm not sure I believe half the 'commentators' in the media, most of them are just grifting for followers.
I despise Laurence Fox's views on a lot of things BUT I too was able to go back and view the material that kicked all this off and yeh I'm frustrated at Ava Evans views on 'men' and whilst I would not have said what Fox did, I can understand that he was angry + hyping it up for the segment ended up with what we got.

Still shouldn't have said it though. should he be 'cancelled' for it? well that's up for the corps to decide his value to them I guess

The more worrying thing about this is that the womens comments have gone almost completely unremarked upon by all these offended persons.

Seems all she needed to do was suggest she may have been a "little strong" and its a free pass for her.

How have you come to that conclusion based off that clip out of interest?
Not sure which clip you are referring to.

I get they are all on these shows to give opposing views, which is great for content but its hard to take much of it seriously...some of it so ridiculously extreme.

She thinks that young lads should live in terror while navigating around the opposite sex, that kind of thinking just makes it all the more difficult for them.

If you take those opinions at face value and she actually believes what she spouts, its quite disturbing.

What frustrated you about her comments? A minister for mental health is a very good idea (along with the funding it sorely needs) as this is the main problem (the discussion was held in the context of mental health). I believe a focussed approach is much better than a more general and vague 'minister for men' idea and it will benefit everyone.

A 'minister for men' is very subjective in terms of what it means and this Conservative government could indeed use it as a means to fuel culture wars (which is their modus operandi) rather than addressing the real issues. It's much more difficult for them to do this if it's a 'minister for mental health'. Invariably such a minister would focus more on men as we have a higher successful suicide rate and the minister would attempt to address the real underlying issues, that would be their job.

I came up with the same idea in my previous post independently of Ava (as I had not yet seen the video where she made the comments) and no one said on here that they were frustrated due to my points.

I don't think I have watched any of his stuff nor do I really watch GB News but I think being cancelled for that is over the top even if what he said was inappropriate.

Do it at any other job in a public facing role and see what happens.

Why the **** should this silver spoon ******* get infinite free passes when John Doe at Asda will get fired on the spot for the same comment?

Whats ironic is that this sort of moronic take on the situation does more harm than good. Its this sort of thing that helps absolute idiots like Andrew Tate get a following. When someone stands up and says "no, you're mad" then they are like a lighthouse for youngsters who don't have the capacity to critically think for themselves but know that they don't like how things are.

In the same way some youngsters mindlessly repeat the political rhetoric on gender, sex and politics with zero thought outside the soundbites they hear. Young lads will learn from a scumbag like Tate because we as a society are demonising men and pushing the idea that any traditional male qualities are toxic. There doesn't seem to be much moderation or context.

That's a fair point but there needs to be some consistency regarding what can and cant be said by these people in the media.

This was posted a while back and I don't remember anyone losing their minds over it. Maybe he is a **** but its almost if its someone you don't like then get the pitchforks out.

Again, that seems to be a guest offering a personal opinion

Not a paid presenter.

Almost like Laurence Fox is a hamfisted idiot who had an open goal to refute her views and instead ending up failing to do so and got himself sacked.

Fox and Evans are two sides of the same coin, neither contribute in a meaningful way to political discourse but they generate clicks. People seem to be unable to differentiate between personalities and actual thinkers.

It’s not a major discussion point, but calling someone a **** is not half as degrading as somebody from the opposite sex saying that no self respecting person would have sex with you. It’s not even close.
