*** League of Legends ***

I'd love to get into this game, but after trying out other DOTA-like games, it's apparent you're either veteran, or no one :( And I don't feel like being slammed about the place while trying to learn.

If you enjoy it then certainly persevere with it. Try playing with some guys on these forums, doing a bit of reading so you understand the fundamentals of this style of game.

Before this the only dota style game I played was Demigod and that was a nice simple introduction. By all means I'm very average at this game but it's entertaining which is why I continue :)

Prior to this I had a mild excursion into Hon (few hours) and had really not enjoyed that experience. I did however play Demigod quite a lot - although we had to stop in the end as the netcode killed the game. The designers of LOL (who were instrumental in DOTA) rejigged the DOTA forumla and have come up with a far more fun game. Evidenced by the fact most nights we have between 10 and 20 players on. September's stats for mumble

You can get lots of item build guides off the intranets, otherwise its pretty much a couple of key principles. Love your tower, harass the opposition to reduce their gold and/or exp but guard your health. Play with one hand on the mouse, one hand on qwer. Expect the gank and be cautious more than optimistic. Dont tower dive. Keep one eye on teh mini map

Yeah was a shame the game swung on basic mistakes. (Removed team name) spiltting up near baron was painful to see. On the back foot from then on. Vids are available for those who missed it, on djWHEAT's ustream channel. Phreak is a great commentator, love how quick he talks during the team fights :) Wish he'd stream more, watched all his saved vids on his channel.

2nd game was pretty bad, horrible lineup from epik and i dont think their amumu regularly plays amumu as well as a poor fortune :\

1st game was pretty interesting though with kog getting banned, these days if you arent guaranteed 1st pick kog you may aswell ban him.

A couple of good players in those games, but nothing that really seems WOW - their vlad seemed really average (for someone that is one of the top players in the game!) until later on in the game, the competitive skill level in HoN seems a lot higher from the (1 or 2) games I've seen.

These are surprisingly good to watch as a spectator!

Oh and anim, I thought you said Kog seemed really useless :p

They were lagging hard though, also its like the first big comp sooo I dunno, I just found it interesting.

Currently its an alright at best, her ulti is her saving grace but requires a lot of crowd control to make the most of it. She may have some different play styles coming along but definitely needs some testing at higher levels.
