*** League of Legends ***

Yep the LoL games have been longer lately.

In terms of the decline, you mistook what I said. I didn't say HoN had declined I said LoL had closed the gap. HoN's players have increased like LoL's just at a lower rate. I'm not sure what release HoN could do which would excite players enough? LoL hasn't in truth done any patches outside of champions and skins so if anything that should be impacting them possibly more.

I love League of legends, currently playing it to death with a couple of friends, we tend to do very well but once we get 20-30 wins infront of our losses we suddenly start having summoners around level 5-10 in our games?

I know the match making system is suppose to put the odds against you but last night was honestly rediclous, had so many people who did not have a clue. I know the match making system is suppose to try and stack the odds against you once you get so far infront, but at least would like a fair and fighting chance.

<3 Blitz.

yeah i know thats how they coded match making in LOL. i usually forget the bad games quite fast though and always remember the good ones.

Talking of Hon, through the public beta it's been quite a way ahead of LoL in the xfire stats. About 1000 extra players a month. The gap has been slowly closing - interestingly lol players play the game longer than HoN players. Today it over took HoN for I believe the first time, only by 50 players but still it's ahead in player count

Would love to know the actual player count of each game.

Some guy took a sample of users to look at EM stats/time played in relation to PSR etc.
He found that of his sample of 300,000 accounts, about 27% had played <10 games, so presumed to be abandoned.
There's 1,561,698 accounts at the moment, so if 27% are active then there's 421,658 active accounts.
It really doesn't say much though because most people have several accounts, so it will not be impossible to measure how many players there are in total until retail.

Average game length is 40.60 minutes for non-EM and 32.68 minutes for EM games.[200,000 sample]

Hon haven't patched properly for ages, they only released a hotfix a week ago because someone discovered a major gold exploit. Next patch is gonna be a large one though, new UI, new heroes, remodelled 1 hero.

At that game time HoN's games are definitely shorter than LoL's. If anything LoL's games are getting longer. As I understand it does form there kpi's so I guess we will see aspects change to correct this.

Enjoyed the games last night - even though we lost bad :(

Got a new USB headset, so should be able to get on vent and talk!

Not sure if ill be on tonight yet, ill pop on vent if i am.

You know you need to test it :) On at usual time tonight, hoping we have a better session tonight - was grim last night :)

Interesting evening last night - my run of poor luck continued (although I think I did nab a win earlier before we started :) )

I think the matchmaking is slightly bad, poor Slinky is effectively being penalised for being good. We're now seeing regular level 30's in the games which although is a good it does mean until level 20 we are at a distinct disadvantage on the runes. I think the games last night were potentially winnable we just took the bad drops when they occured. I'm also not sure that when we start pushing we don't push forward enough as a team.

I'm comfortable win or loose certainly prefer playing the game with guys on vent as against no one. Usual scenario i'll be on 9.30ish tonight (maybe earlier) :)

Posted a thread here http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=804531#post804531 re matching if anyone else fancies contributing

Yep that is our gripe because Slinky is obviously very good so he is finding himself matched up against level 30's - as of yet I think he has no runes as he is hoping to get those at Level 20 when all other level runes become unimportant. I think the matchmaking should take the level into account due to this but I don't think it will change. I'm happy on our games either way tbh

Well the loosing streak continues :( We had some fun games last night, one game in particular was ours to win but it just slipped away from us. Real shame and a nice team to boot. Always great to see the other team publically having a go at each other, not so good when they then win :(

Hopefully we can address it tonight - need some wins under our belt. On a positive I noticed the team's were getting lower level against us so i'm guessing slinky's elo is coming down so it will all even out.

New hero's for the week are in.

Code:
Ashe Ranged DPS
Corki Mage
Gangplank	Melee DPS
Gragas Tank
Jax Melee DPS
Kassadin	Melee DPS
Malphite	Melee DPS
Morgana Support
Sivir Ranged DPS
Veigar Mage

Well the loosing streak continues but I enjoyed the games last night, for me I need to focus on particular heroes so I live and breath them. I'll be on as usual tonight :)

Proposed new patch is up on the test realm

https://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=73174

Lots of changes fixes like the stuttering that occurs when a character is just coming on screen. I particularly like

Sound effects added to team chat, all chat, and system chat

Would have helped Gromit last night when his team mate in the lane decided to chat his plan rather than ping it :)

I had a really, really bad early game and it crippled for me the rest of it. :(

It does really help to focus on one hero, especially when you're past level 20 since you can focus your runes more.

Am I the only one that can't resist buying these heroes. As far as I am concerned this micro transaction really works well for Riot and Goa :)

Worth the money - must have put 120+ hours in this game

Enjoyed having you on the Team, Borrish - regardless of the outcome I far prefer playing in our Vent sessions
