That's the problem, how do you itemise against...

Easy answer, don't. You should not build to counter a single champion but rather a team as a whole. That said, it is possible to counter a certain champion in the picking phase. If you have a particular problem with an unkillable Mundo i suggest you are not picking the right fights with the right people.
 
i think its important to build your "core" and then you itemise towards the threats on the other team, whether it be early defense for slightly fed players, or tailored dmg towards specific targets... there are so many factors to consider that if you don't adapt after your core, you will get caught out. damage dealers need to consider their items just as tanks need to consider theirs...

if mundo is the problem target then you need to consider building to beat him. if your carry is gimping his build by incorporating a madreds then your team made bad champ picks. if mundo is unkillable with madreds and ignite on him then he's either completely overfed or your carry is failing.

Love the new patch notes, addresses so many problems with certain champions and finally gives Nasus a much deserved boost.

I've been playing him more often recently in a different style and doing well, can't wait to play him with the changes. A timely boost for my favourite champion, on the day of his brother's arrival!
 
new champ looks immense but then so do every champ thats demonstrated on the champion spotlight. he seems really damn good though

* Renekton uses a new resource system called Fury. Renekton gains Fury by attacking or dealing damage with spells. When he has gathered enough Fury, the resource will be expended to empower his skills with bonus effects.
* Cull the Meek: Renekton swing his blade, dealing damage to nearby enemies and healing for a portion of the life dealt.
o Fury Bonus: Heal amount raised dramatically.
* Ruthless Predator: Renekton's next attack swings twice, dealing a portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target briefly and applying on-hits each time.
o Fury Bonus: Renekton's next attack swings three times, dealing a huge portion of his weapon damage, stunning his target greatly and applying on-hits each time.
* Slice and Dice: Renekton dashes forward, dealing physical damage to targets along the way. If he hits a target, he can use Dice for a brief period of time for the same effect.

* We have changed how critical strike and dodge chance work. You will now get fewer ‘lucky’ or ‘unlucky’ streaks where you get no critical hits/dodges in a row, or a lot of them in a row. Your average chance to get a crit is the same as before though – if you have a 50% crit rate, and you make 100 attacks, you’ll still crit about 50 times.
* Baron Nashor's Wrath of the Ancients spell no longer targets stealthed units.
* Jungle monsters that previously had negative magic resistance now have magic resistance of zero.
* Monster camps will now properly updated when scouted with vision.
* Chat will now display the Champion being played by the person who is speaking.

will wait to see him in game. dont wanna spend 6300 ip blindly although i am VERY tempted because his skillset is class.

i would imagine tanky dps is the way to go on him since he has naturally high attack and has rage. i'd go 21/9/0 with exhaust and ghost. screw it i might just buy him haha :D

No it's cos the screenshot above was from ~900 elo.

New champ is a bit weird, you do need to build him a bit defensively (as opposed to other tanky DPS that can usually just get by with a Mallet). I mean his skill set forces him to be in the front of a fight so you should embrace that instead of moan about it :D

it was a normal match u cheeky git and it was just after the server came up which means it was from a wide spread of player skill.

to many elitist ex wow players in this thread
 
well i bought the new champ and tested him out and he seems pretty weak, quite disappointed. he definitely had some kind of nerf between the the making of the champion spotlight and the public release of renekton because the stats and effectiveness do not add up, not even close.

my opinions so far is that he has very very low dmg, his Q is extremely low dmg and a small heal. his W is quite decent and probably his best spell, his E is interesting but negligible damage which is understandable. he doesn't have much burst damage and he certainly doesn't have the sustained auto attack damage. he has to build tank at some point because he is actually squishy... all in all, quite the fail champ so far. buffs will definitely be imminent

oh and he also generates rage WAY too slowly outside of laning (unless he has ulti). even in laning he is at a disadvantage because he has to push the lane in order to generate rage which no one wants to be forced to do.

Played a couple of games with him yesterday. He seemed ok but is very squishy. I found laning vs other melee to be fine although any kind of ranged champ can annihilate him. I'm getting very disappointed with the new champs, only irelia seems to be remotely worth playing and her ulti sucks. Seems to be a running theme with new ultis.
