Sure but they're a default option, on some cars they're an optional extra, in this case they were.

Probably best to find an insurance company who trains their customer services staff properly. Alternatively if that is truly their intent then you don't want to be arguing with them about such stupidity when you need them.

Adaptive LEDs are a factory option on the 5 series they wont be turning those away either. Its purely the sales guy not under standing. Elevate it to his manager to clarify thats what I have done in the past and theres no issue. After all lots of cars they are insuring the owners wont even know there are factory options fitted.

If you have an accident in your car it will go to a bodyshop they will pull up the parts required for your car off a build list and quote for the repair. If it was built with LED headlights they will quote for them in for the repair, likewise if it has halogens they will quote for them as they are on the build spec. The same with factory fitted wheels, sunroofs etc etc. The insurance company arent interested in going through every quote checking against a base spec to void claims. It makes no business sense and is not what is ment by declaring optional extras. If you had the dealer fit a body kit, engine upgrade with different parts, towbar etc these need declaring as when repairing your car off the build sheet it wont match.
