---Left 4 Dead 2 Thread---

Just got a RSS from Rock Paper Shotgun, latest podcast, description reads
"Days before the shock Left 4 Dead 2 announcement E3, our own travelling chappie John Walker sat down with Valve's Chet Faliszek to dredge up incredi-details on the zombie sequel"

Meh, L4D (1) would have lasted for years to come, no need for a 2nd so soon, well, apart from cashing in ofc

I paid £33 for the original and I'm more than happy with that. I'll be buying the new version and will continue to host servers for it... but still.. It's a *tad* soon after the original came out :)

looks sick from what videos ive seen cant wait , yeah sure valves cashing in but theyve all given us so much game play via css ,tf2 , l4d etc etc. so ill be glad to wack over the full price of another game :)

I don't see a problem with L4D2 frankly, if they can improve on the original that is - with far more content in it. I'll happily buy!

I do feel that they've rushed ahead though, they'll really need to pull out the stops. I'm hoping they don't add in 40 different weapons and boss mobs that are simply too hard - the mistakes that most sequels seem to make. Part of the fun of L4D is the limited range of weapons to play with.

Video looks like a LOT of fun though!

unconfirmed RUMOR that if you bought the original game through steam, and buy L4D2 through steam as well, you'll get it for $10.

if true, valve have redeemed themself

edit: more like, the only way valve can redeem themself.

IGN have some better in-game video clips, for a full price stand alone sequel the gfx seem to look identical to current game in every way, with just new weapons, maps etc. I don’t see the need for new chars yet either, when there's not really been enough content as yet for the current game.

This alleged sequel better have a tone of content or people are going to moan, and yet still buy the game as always...

Gawd, load of scrooges on here :p

I would happily pay £30 for L4D2. The amount of enjoyment the original has given me is well worth that; £30 would be one night drinking, £30 for L4D has given me dozens of cheap nights in

If anything, I wish all sequels to great games were this frequent.

Can't wait for this to come out. L4D wasn't perfect (but damn close) by any means - L4D2 can hopefully only be an improvement on the original.

Agree with the L4TF2 comment though, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. :)

Sounds really good but also sounds like it should be DLC :/
There are mods for numerous games that do more than add a few new guns and characters, plus a few new maps.... :/
