Legend of Mir

Man I used to love mir2. I played on Dragon as Philiop (38 warrior in the end)

All I used to love to do was refine, I helped brew the DC 31 Dragon Sword that was kicking about. Oh yeah it takes me back trying to buy dur1 dragon rings for Mace refining lol
 
Played both mirr 2 & 3. then private server after that.
at time was best thing around for a good few of us it seems, happy old Days :)
Was "Relis" on server :)
 
I remember watching this on Sky, ofcourse back then i did not even own a pc
let alone want one. (to much drinking to be done)

Thought it looked awesome though, remember the narrator getting so exited at times

Also that Myth of soma looked legit from what i can remember :D

wonder if there is any decent servers about...
(last time i searched found blatant Pay2Win shame that)

i was the first to craft a 2-11 BloodStealer Sword, broke going 2-12, i quit shortly after. i also made a dc50 lvl 7 character too.

Nice, I made a few 1-10 spears, can't remember if I got 1 to 11.

I made a load doing it and posted all the recipes and techniques on the dragon forums just before I left. I believe BIO took a steep hike over pure 15 after that lol
 
This was also my first MMO. Only ever played the trial - remember downloading it on my 56k modem (and it was some 2GB big or so). Remember the light blue armour and the wooden swords. Unfortunately I was too young to pay monthly to go past the trial, so only ever got to level 11 (which I think was the cap?), but still used to log in and talk to people.

I actually downloaded and logged into a (presumably private) server a back in late 2011 just for nostalgia - didn't do anything on it though.

Then I moved on to Lineage II which has become my favourite ever MMO (although I no longer play it).

I think what makes these MMOs so great is the open world PvP and clan systems - all of the modern MMOs have instanced raids and rolling for loot which just lessens the thrill. More 'hardcore' MMOs with smaller communities are much more fun. Shame there's nothing out there nowadays like that.

Edit: I'm confused as to whether I played Mir 2 or Mir 3 (and why isn't there an original Mir?). From memory it looked like the screenshot here, although all of the images are vaugely named in Google search - http://www.freewebs.com/amka47/Legend of mir.jpg

I used to do chores round my dads house, cut grass, clean the fish pond etc so I could afford the £7 a month to put on my Splash Plastic card haha!
 
haha mir 2 wow the memories, must have gave that game so many years of my life!

I was Camalot, quit at level 45. Think i was one of the first 5 to hit that level, bullpit was 47 at the time if i remember. Used to race a tao called Strobe, i leveled mostly with a wiz called Linz.

I played the game since beta on a tao called Zoro. I made Camalot just after beta ended.

Used to be friends with toobad and Guinty1, had loads of cool pics when they got their hands on the GM, haha!

Lead a guild called HouseOfKeylah for a while, held Sabuk wall at one point.

At the time i was dating a girl off their called LisaUK lol ! I got one of my best mates onto the game also who ended up getting hold of the character Redsky. He loved to play the game as a bad guy, so many people hated him but he was a great guy irl. :)

I remember getting ripped off by Taky, think it was a bloke pretending to be a girl! That started the ball rolling for loads of future hackings! lol

I ended up quitting and gave my character to Redsky who used him to pvp with. Think he was one of the few who could actually beat Ultima41.

Karl and bettina :D.I couldnt afford to sub the game and didnt have a pc of my own at the time but I use to watch the channel and watch the legend of mir show everyday
