Some of my friends are very posh private schooled all their lives people. So I'm constantly surrounded with things like :

"Hello old chap.."
"Gosh *****, I haven't seen you in ages you old squire, how the bloody hell are you?"
"Sweet, pub at 1830, tally ho old fella"

Damn army types lol.

That's how I speak :/

I like golly, I use it a fair bit actually. I also use "crikey" a lot. "Crumbs" is a good one.

Who has ever used certain words or sayings regularly and noticed people around you eventually picking them up?

I've tried it a few times in the past as a little game, quite surprising how well it works, i think the forums should to come up with something new and see how well it spreads, whether its a word, saying or meme, it would be great fun to see how far it eventually gets!

I say "crikey" far too much for my liking.

I can only really swear around my family or boss. Anyone else I'm with seems to frown on it, so I say "crikey", "struth" etc.. an awful lot.

Yeah, I've done it a few times and it's pretty funny when you hear someone else come out with the same thing.



Words I like to use which are rarely in use(not dead though), off the top of my head:

Cosmic (=cool - heard from an old mechanic, who was moaning about how "cool" wasn't good enough.)

Chap
