LFS release today!

Well Ive been playing the demo of this for around a week now and loving it, and this new patch has persuaded me to buy the full game. Great! :D But now I dont know where to start, which car or which track to master! What are the most popular cars and tracks that people play online?

Aint even tried the new Astons yet, been having too much fun on blackwood
hehehe, I did 120 laps of the AS grand touring and me and my mate had very numb hands after :)

I shouldn't really smile because I was on the earge of going hospital today coz i couldn't close my hand at all

Finally some excericises my sister told me too do got it back to normal ;)

So i wouldn't reccommend racing on that track all day with that car.

PS: my friends hand is still really bad and had to miss work lololol

take care everyone when racing :)

Hi guys i purchased LFS S2 license yesterday.
I need some LFS knowledge.
Which tracks should i concentrate on and which cars for starters.
Links to all the decent sites etc.
Any speed tips and anything else you can think off.

I won't judge it yet as it's early days but what i will say is it plays online perfectly and there are loads of racers on. A good start.

if you really want to start somewhere, start with the slowest cars, and just work your way up as you get better:)

if you had to practice a track to start with, is Blackwood GP, its one of the most used tracks it seems, also the South city tracks are used a fair ammount, but really just try em all out :)

Get youself onto this site

LFS World stats
you log in with your lfs account, you can see your online racing stat details, also can see what times and download the world record hotlaps ( which go into the lfs/data/spr/ folder, and view the replay, will really help when wanting to learn the racing lines.

race and have fun :)

Good suggestions there. When I started with LFS a few months ago I tried to drive the cars straight off without much success. Perhaps trying to drive the F50Z without practice is pretty hard, especially on keyboard.

So I started using my steering wheel and went through the training sessions and as you pass each session you get used to the increasing power of the cars so that when I finally get to the F50Z I will have had plenty of experience.

I haven't yet done any online stuff, with this patch and BMW F1 car I will have to get out there and see what I can do compared to everyone else, once I've practiced more and got some decent setups to help me.;)

If your on a keyboard, the FZ50 now has traction control so you should be OK with that now.

For a beginner id agree with frost, Blackwood GP is a very popular track. Take the little UF1000 out and the XF GTI and then work your way up. I also find the Formula XR a very nice car to drive.

yea XF GTI with blackwood is the one to start on, i did... (that was 3 years ago though :-))

to race with the BMW with lap times <0.01 off the WR, its actually mentally tough unless your used to it.

You need to learn the basics as the BMW F1 is extremely fast

Its very easy to drive the BMW Sauber really, i tried it on the keyboard and was lapping around the 1 minute stage. THe hard bit is learning how to drive it fast as the braking lengths are so short, braking on the 75 metres marker on the Blackwood back straight and dropping 4 gears while taking the turn at 110moh is pretty immense.

Hey Stellios, gotta question for you, are there any stock car races... no custom setups allowed basicly?

Not sure mate, ive never came across one as the original setup that comes with the game is pretty naff. If your using default setup then just ask if someone can send you thiers, youll usually find one person kind enough to share his.

Cheers Frost what a great site and a fantastic idea. I was totally blown away by this FFS why don't every other game include such a dektop interface.
Am still fishing about at the moment getting things sorted and working the interface out.
I must say the games interface isn't the most user friendly i have come across.
Anyways i am about ready to go and do some praccy and will concentrate on Blackwood initially.
Am noob to LFS but far from noob when it comes to sim/online racing so i am hoping to get up to speed quite quickly.
Having said that i am a racer Not a hot lapper and always qually low and finish well. I qually on race set up and go for consistancy. :)

hope to see a few Oc on at some time my race name as always is [TSR]Wolf and my number plate is Malc30. Nice touch.
