They're not really meant for joe public, I don't really know why the download is still available.

Extract the skins to the data\skins dir and in LFS create a new car colour profile and then click the colours tab at the bottom and go to the Texture name box and click it, there will be a list of skins for the selected car, choose the one you want and thats it. :)

I don't know what track i just been on in the Sauber but **** me. I have just had my teeth rattled out and my eyes still haven't stop shaking. :p
You literally cling on and crap yourself the whole way round. It was some real tight city map with walls all over the place. I held on for a couple of laps before crashing in most spectacular fashion. The sence of speed is awesome the brakes are like anchors. I am going to hurt myself playing this i know it.
THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC.

Cheers for help guys.

That'll be one of the South City configurations, great circuits but hellishly scarey in an F1 car :)

IIRC people have recognised the layout of the streets and buildings as somewhere in England; can't remember where at the moment. Vaguely remember someone saying Scawen Roberts (the programmer) living around that area.

 Anyone up for being a mentalcase try the BMW Sauber on South City Sprint 2, its insane.

lol i dont think there was a moment my TC wasnt working like mad....could have just been my driving though...still a very uh..bumpy course

I thought Scawen was German? :o

Try Aston Cadet too, thats even worse than south city as the turns are so sharp, and the downhill drop is just immense.

Have you tried looking on the memberlist on the forum? You might recongnise a alternative nick you use, I cant see any mention of malc though.

For anyone who's interested, me going round SO1 in an lx6 and getting 2nd spot on the hotlap board :p here.

Well, with a name like Scawen Roberts, he's more likely to be Welsh or English :)

That coupled with him living in Twickenham (according to an old thread on RSC Forums).

From the same thread, someone noticed similarities between various streets and place names in the area South of London, and the South City circuit, so that gives a clue to the tracks origins.

on a couple of the tracks, theirs a roadsign that reads <catford on it, which is where i live, i dont drive in RL myself but im sure i've been around an area that looked very very similer to bits of south city

Cracking lap, was that with the Race_S setup ?

To clear up about the skins...

Any skins you want to use online can be uploaded to LFSWorld, most of the time the maker will upload them so they will already be there (mine are).

When you join a server, any missing skins will be auto downloaded as long as you have the option turned on and put in your \data\skinsx folder.

The reason private/team skins are available for download is that LFSWorld only supports 1024x1024 skins, and a lot are made at 2048x2048. This gives the opportunity to get the higher quality versions and make the game look better.

Theres plenty of skins on the official forums and RSC, if it doesn't say public use its best to check with the skinner before you use it online...some people really get the hump if you use their personal skins.
