LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

Hi guys, im also was waiting for LG 34GK950G, but really cant wait more longer with my poor 60hz normal monitor,
so i pulled the trigger and bought AW3418DW, and IMHO with some OSD adjustments, its amazing monitor, zero dead pixel, very small bleeding even in the dark, either im very lucky or i got perfect monitor,
with the very fast progress in pc hardware, waiting is really waste of time, just buy and enjoy, its just me.
Could you post a picture of the monitor without lights and black screen? Just to compare with mine, I am still waiting for my second replacement. Thanks

I think you guys are right. Of all features HDR seems to be the one to compromise on at the moment. Just realized that I will likely have to absorb a performance hit with ray tracing enabled. Got to pick the priorities. Overpaying for a PG27UQ and then only being able to run in an upscaled resolution is out of whack and a very poor value.

I'd disagree IMO. HDR makes a fantastic difference if done well and almost no performance penalty hit. Ray tracing is the future, not now. No one is going to go down to 1080p 60 FPS to run ray tracing for more than five minutes before they move on.

HDR is cool - but $1999 for Gsync + HDR (especially on a FALD IPS) does not add up.
Something's got to give and it's definitely not going to be high refresh rates or Gsync, or even more cash to do NVLink 2080+
I'm starting to lean towards a PG279Q alongside a 32" 4K HDR monitor on a dual mounting arm.
Address gaming with a gaming monitor and desktop use with a content monitor.

RT will be a tax on FPS but 1080p/60 is over exaggerating it. Developers will adjust to optimizing for RT and Tensor hardware a lot faster than the monitor market will catch up to OLED-tier PQ.
Just look at this thread. Most of us are waiting around to check out a brand new 3440x1440 100Hz Gsync 1.2 IPS panel fully stocked by 2019.
I'm interested in the 34GK950G but still leary of UW support in games. I don't like cut scenes breaking to 16:9. That kind of ruins the immersion.

Thanks a ton! In your review is there any stress tests you can do to see if the overclock deteriorates over time? as in it develops flicker, panel uniformity issues or doesn't hit 120hz.

Ive seen a lot of reports of this type of thing happening on the Dell after a month or two or being OCed to 120hz

Considering the thousands of units shipped, I'm not convinced that the issue is as prominent as your comment suggests; however, at least with Dell you have a solid 3 year warranty (at least) to fall back on, and I've got written confirmation from Dell and read on the Dell forums that they will replace monitors that won't hold 120Hz.

I've seen some reddit posts where they were denied a replacement for any issues in the overclocked range. This is in the US atleast. Thats what is worrisome.

Why are these things unironically marketed for 12-16 year olds when only the gainfully employed can afford them?
