LG 48CX OLED - 4K 120 Hz

Another quick question. Do you have to enable HDR through windows as well as enabling in game or will the game change it automatically?

I've not enabled it, just checked again and Windows 10 says "use HDR - off". While playing Mass Effects Legendary Edition however it automatically switched to HDR mode.

Sorry, yes 2560x1440. Does the TV handle this res well? my 2080ti will not do 4k 120hz.
I would expect this to work pretty well - I mostly run 1080p as I prefer to aim for 120Hz over high resolution. And I don't believe this TV is doing pixel perfect upscaling (1 to 4), most won't. The resolution is high enough you really shouldn't have many issues when upscaling.

Got a problem with my OLED panel at the top you can see a thin white line on the picture and the movie image is uneven at the top I did pixel refresh but didn't clear it anyone had this problem! This only happens when watching streaming movies/Blu-ray

That is inside the edge of the panel (content is black barred), so have you checked it with some different content?

Hello guys I'm going to buy this TV as a monitor to work, game mostly fps games and had a question what size depth do you suggest for a desk without wall mounting the TV?

I used a 90cm table for a while, but this was also with a aftermarket stand, I only wall mounted as I wanted a smaller desk

Yes it will, my 1080TI runs my OLED @4K, 120hz on a 2.0HDMI so your 2080TI would do the same

Is that on Chroma 4.2.0? What outputs do you have as I believe you can't have full 120@4k with 4.4.4 settings with HDMI 2.0.

See these are now sub £1k and tempting as my next upgrade. Anything else that I should consider at this price point? I almost bought a G9 but the lack of proper local dimming is off putting and the micro-LED version is really expensive.

HDMI2.0a/b can only run 4.2.0 @120hz @4K 8bit in windows 10 because of the 18gbps, and who's talking about 4.4.4 settings?

Resolution

1080/2080TI
3840x2160 120hz 8bit 4:2:0
3840x2160 60hz 8Bit 4:2:0
3840x2160 60hz 8bit 4:4:4

3080/90
3840x2160 120hz 10bit 4:4:4
3840x2160 120hz 12bit 4:4:4

If you look at the image again, I posted you see it's not the inside edge of the panel the OLED TV edge is near the grey shelf above it, when a movie is stream in the original-ratio or letterbox I get the thin white line on the screen, but if the movies is in full screen ratio I don't see it, and I don't see it in any games too.

Yes that was exactly my point, the line is inside, away from the edge of the panel. I suspect it's a quirk of the encoding or image processing :)

It's not uncommon to see content where there's some discrepancy in the first or final row of pixels, I often notice it on animated content where colours are brighter. Not specific to OLED TVs here, I've seen it on lots of content over the years.

Okay thanks. What about RGB output or is that inferior?

You can't use RGB @120hz only YCbCr4.2.0 and output dynamic Range = Limited only because of the limited 18gbps 2.0HDMI. But higher colour depth is more important than full chroma subsampling:)

3840x2160, 60hz, 8bit, RGB, output dynamic Range = Full

You could be right about the encoding or image processing:) at least you know what it was:D. Yes the movie was only HD format on Netflix but when it's in 4K I don't see it:)

i see that also on some content, not all
and when i played it on my kids pc with a diff monitor it also has a line like that like a bright white line thats flashing, maybe a encode glitch or something

i also have a video with a bright yellowish line

I read the thin white line or flicker in LCD monitors it's a hardware issue when monitor starts to fail and in OLED all I could find was the C7/8 models that some people report it, and only vertical bands on the CX65/77
