LG 48CX OLED - 4K 120 Hz

Linus' take.

Best part of this video is he finally confirms what I been saying for the past 3/4 years about motion clarity of OLEDs being superior to LCD, even at 60HZ :p

This is incredibly noticeable with lower FPS, LCD at 100+ fps is ok but as soon as you drop to 60 or even less, the motion looks smeary where as with oled, even <60 fps still looks clear but stuttering is more noticeable then due to the near instantaneous pixel response time so this is one "perk" of LCD.... it somewhat helps "masks" the stuttering at lower fps due to the smeary motion.

Have been playing avengers lately and switched from the oled telly to the monitor as I wanted to have a film playing in the background and damn, it is incredibly jarring going from oled hdr back to lcd for gaming, it is seriously like comparing a game from the 90s to a remaster of a game nowadays.

EDIT:

If anyone wants a laugh:

I am coming from 55” OLED display LG C7, the image quality of the ACER in games is exactly the same or better than OLED due to higher pixel count

:o

Agreed. I bought a 165Hz Dell to compliment the CX, intending to stick to 3rd person on the CX and 1st person on the Dell... But I'm now looking at a foldable desk to get all the gaming on the CX as it's just miles in front of LCD, especially now that high refresh 4k is here.

I still maintain that for me the CX is not an option for productivity; I'm sticking to the Dell IPS screen for that. :)

How would a 2080 super & ryzen 3600 be ok on a 55"c9, as i've just ordered a air cooler for my cpu. Did not fancy dragging all the wc gear in to the living room :D
Is hdmi or dp better for the 2080s as i am a bit behind the times with cables.....

What Res, 4k 60? Should be ok but when I had my 1080ti I preferred 1440 at higher refresh. As for DP that's not an option, only HDMI 2.1.

Just want to check out the c9's capabilities, i've been using this 27" 1440p/60 ips monitor since 2015 and not much seems to have changed

Yup, best setup imo, monitor on the side for any work/browsing, desktop usage etc. and the oled for all media/gaming.

:o

Motion clarity is indeed unreal - 60Hz on my CX48 looks better than 144Hz on my other monitors.

My B9 has overtaken my ultrawide (x34) for gaming duties these days, I can see why people are grabbing the 48CX as dedicated PC monitor, just been playing through ABZU on the oled @ 4k, absolutely stunning, hearing my GF say wow says it all really.

Now your GF have seen the beautiful image of your OLED quickly hide the TV controller Lol:D:D

There is no differents in image between a HDMI & DP cables

Will this end up in Black Friday deals, what do people reckon?

IMHO I don't think the CX 48 would drop very much in price on Black Friday deal, if they don't sale allots of 77inch displays;) then the CX 48 will be limited and the price will rise again, but the CX 55 will drop
