LG 48CX OLED - 4K 120 Hz

guys wanted to ask you what you would choose.

asus ek 3090 or gigabyte auros 3090 waterforce?

Gigabyte Auros has 2x hdmi 2.1 so i think i can set one up for game settings "pc mode" on the CX48 and the other HDMI 2.1 none pc mode so the options would be unlock like trumotion to watch movies and just select which hdmi input i use, also the auros has a little bit higher clock speed then its cheaper also price wise

Asus EK 3090 the only thing is my motherboard is also a asus so for the themed setup

help me decide pleasse

Eh I have a 3080 and it's fine for 4k 120 hz gaming. 3090 is just a massive waste of money. I'd always suggest Asus though if you are set on it - they have the best build quality this generation of 3000 series. Personally, I'd try to get an Asus Strix 3080 or Tuf OC. Or try my luck at a 3080Ti, which will likely have better performance than the 3090 for way less.

Just sold my acer x27. Paid £1500 for it 12 months ago, sold it for £880...

Want a 48cx but the gamma and now brightness issue is putting me off. Plus its £1489 and does not seem to be reducing in price at all..

Also, lg announced their next year oleds and a 48 inch wasnt planned, which is odd. You would think all the hdmi 2.1 issues would be resolved in next years versions.

There is literally no good option right now, stupid to buy a monitor without hdmi 2.1 support and downsides with the cx range.. Grr why did I sell the x27 lol

The x27 looks like poop compared to an LG OLED. Even with raised gamma at 60FPS, or slightly reduced max nit brightness, who cares, it still destroys the x27 for picture and motion quality. If you are nitpicking over such small issues on the CX, I wonder how you can deal with the fundamental flaws of LCD tech which are much worse. Spending 1200+ for an LCD is a complete rip off by the way. Acer WAY overprices those monitors - but such is the "gaming" monitor margins, you are generally paying much more for less compared to TVs.

I actually think the 3090 is great value for money and the 3080 a total pointless card, it really should have had 16gb of ram at this stage.

the 3080ti won’t beat the 3090, it will be a between the two due to a slower bus.

the 3080 shouldn’t have been made

the cx range are probably the best gaming screens out there at the moment and any flaws are minimal, I’ve not noticed any on my 48cx

Reports are that LG is producing the 8.5G using a new production method and is now efficiently producing 77 inch and 48 inch panels. Hopefully means the prices will come down for the c1 range. I'm thinking £2499/£2999 for the 77 inch B1/C1 and £1299 for the 48 inch.

It looks like I'm going to be without a gaming "monitor" for 6 months after selling my x27. Oops.

The 5m Moshou HDMI 2.1 cable is supposed to work according to a review on the jungle from a guy with a RTX 3090.

Search for Moshou.

for over 3m you just need to find an active powered fibre optic cable.

I've found Hdmi 2.1 cables all the way up to 100m in length, the 100m model costs $500 lol

not at all, been totally serious actually I thought they were going to be a lot more so Great value for me as I use it, professionally, for more than just gaming and no other card comes close.

I was ready to pay £2500 ish so £1400 was a no brainier and a bargain.
