Yeah flashed it using USB. Done nothing for PC, got worse as I can't even seem to send Atmos which I could before, so reinstalling entire windows on HTPC see what happens.
The Arc doesn't support PCM at the moment.. so not really the fix won't make a difference until Sonos release the PCM update. My sonos Arc turned up this morning. I can enjoy my C9 now....Sound Fixed..YAY

I apologise if this long winded, but it's been bothering me for a couple of weeks. I have my new LG E9 connected to my Pioneer LX701 receiver via ARC (HDMI port #2 on the telly). My sky box, bluray player, Xbox and nvidia Shield all connect to my receiver via HDMI. The LG sees these devices, but they all show up under HDMI #2 in the devices menu. ARC, CEC etc. are all switched on.
Last night we watched a film on bluray and then put the LG into standby mode and switched all other devices including the receiver off (via the Harmony remote). This morning I bring the TV out of standby by selecting Netflix, the receiver also comes on and has the input set to 'TV' as expected, but I get no sound at all. I spend 5-10 minutes checking all inputs and settings etc. No joy. I switch everything off and try again, still no sound on Netflix. I make sure i check and the TV isn't on mute. My little daughter looks at me impatiently.
In the end I press the TV dashboard button and select the sky box on hdmi #2 from the ribbon menu and suddenly I get sound in Netflix again. Bizarre. This has happened a few times, but I figured I just hadn't set things up right, now I think its the TV not automatically selecting the right setting for the audio.
I've seen a lot of LG ARC problems online, going back a few years. Is ARC still buggy on LG? My Panasonic 902B was faultless in this respect.
I have the C9, but not having this issue myself. My AV receiver turns on and off perfectly with the TV with HDMI ARC being enabled as the default sound. you seeing all the devices as HDMI 2 is expected as they are plugged into the AV receiver which is via HDMI 2 (ARC port)
However I plug all my devices into the TV itself. Find this works perfect for me and partly with expectation of HDMI 2.1 devices, more so VRR going right into the TV. Works to point, only use LG remote now and AV receiver remote is packed away.
is HDMI Arc being selected by default on your TV when it turns on?
So a question I have, I’ve had my c9 for almost 2 weeks. Absolutely brilliant and love it to bits.
I have a sky q box And with my old Panasonic plasma I could control the tv with the sky remote ie turning it on and off so never really used the tv remote.
But for weird reason the sky remote won’t turn on/off the LG tv. I’ve tried doing the remote set up within the sky box but it doesn’t find the TV set no matter what code I use.
So at the moment I have to use the tv remote to turn the tv on and off then use the sky remote to turn on/off the sky box.
Unless I’m missing something?? Anyone have any ideas?? Or how to get the sky remote to turn the tv on and off etc.
Yes HDMI ARC is selected by default. It's a strange one as it doesn't happen all the time and I haven't been able to recreate it. Its almost as if the receiver should have its own icon in the dashboard's connected devices menu, that when selected reaffirms that this is how you want to receive your audio.
Hmm I can see how you probably don't get any of these issues, with all your sources connected directly to the TV. I don't really want to go down thAT route, that's what I have receiver for. Guess I will just see how it goes, its only really an issue when it stops the Mrs putting Paw Patrol on for the little one. I still love the TV.
Yeh that works but when you turn the sky box off then turn the tv on via the sky remote. It doesn’t switch over to sky, just gives a message saying would you like to turn your set top box on. I then have to turn the sky box off/on via the sky remote.Think if you hold down the power button on the Sky remote it will turn the TV off? I'm sure I used to be able to do both but one required holding the button a bit longer, unfortunately don't have the sky box anymore to test.
Hi guys,
I bought a 55 inch C9 last week from Costco to play games in the spare bedroom. I love the picture but the sound is awful and not very clear for me using the internal speakers. I've tested a fair few games and in many of them i'm finding the dialogue to be difficult to hear but then everything else seems to get too loud. Is anyone having the same issue? I never really had this problem using my Samsung Q9FN.
I didn't really want to buy a soundbar as the room is only small and the neighbours bedroom is next to it but sounds like i might have to? To be honest it's annoyed me so much i'm thinking of returning it and getting another Samsung.
I've never used the internal speaker as I've had my sound output via AVR for years and years.
But are you using the stand or is it wall mounted?
My understanding is that the curve at the bottom of the stand, is what makes the sound work.
