LG c9 OLED

About stand curve design makes it work, it should come off so able to use the TV speaker but not the stand

I didn't literally mean the stand is required for the speaker to work.

The curve in the stand pushes the sound from the downward firing speakers toward the viewer.

If you don't use the stand, then the sound will be a lot weaker.

I also have 65" Q9FN and c9 in 65", but yes if I compare internal speakers they are crap on C9 (wall or stand mounted) compare to the Samsung. Not an issue persay for me really as I use an AVR or soundbar prior.

Would recommend if you can, pick up a soundbar, do not need to blast volumes, but even a basic one will really add to the audio even compared to the Q9FN built in speakers.

Thanks. I'll have a look and see if i can find a decent affordable soundbar.

Hi guys,

I bought a 55 inch C9 last week from Costco to play games in the spare bedroom. I love the picture but the sound is awful and not very clear for me using the internal speakers. I've tested a fair few games and in many of them i'm finding the dialogue to be difficult to hear but then everything else seems to get too loud. Is anyone having the same issue? I never really had this problem using my Samsung Q9FN.

I didn't really want to buy a soundbar as the room is only small and the neighbours bedroom is next to it but sounds like i might have to? To be honest it's annoyed me so much i'm thinking of returning it and getting another Samsung.
I've used mine to play a few Xbox games and while it's a far cry from a paper 5.1 system (and not as good as my cheaper Samsung but I'm putting that down to thickness) it's not that bad. When I say worse than Samsung, it's just a bit more tinny (my Sammy is a 60ju6800). One of the games was far cry and gunshots seemed fine. I turned off the AI sound though as that was doing weird stuff.

Low-end is woeful, it was parking and distorting. Laughably bad..I've reduced.bass and it's still rubbish

Have pushed the button on one of these to replace my LG LCD that's dying. Hopefully will be all I've read on here it is!

You might want to remove that - could act as a heat insulator which might damage the panel.
Hardly, the screen on the C9 barely gets warm lol. I’ve had mine on all day and it’s cool to the touch.
But if your tv faces a window where the sun shines through then sure it could heat it up.
But as it is, it’s barely warm the panel.

04.80.03 TV software

I cannot seem to connect to the chromecast features on my C9 from today, has been working fine for the last 6 months. I have mine hardwired Ethernet and have updated the TV app. Anyone else having problems? Tried with 2 phones and no luck on YouTube or Netflix.

Can still chromecast from android devices and airplay from apple devices fine. Could try deleting pairing history under connections area?

Best price for these at present just under £2K for the 65”?

I’ve seen it for £1989 at John Lewis.

Bit the bullet and ordered it, along with the £140 insurance for 5 years against screen burn.

Looking forward to next Thursday already. :D

EDIT: Can someone please let me know exactly how big the footprint of the stand is? I need to buy a piece of wood to sit it on or else my Sonos Beam is going to obscure some of the screen.

At its widest, the metal wing thing on the front is 100cm on 65" in terms of depth its about 25 cm. Most of the depth is on the rear part behind the panel. This picture will give an idea, though it does not give the metal wing part which I listed, only overall width of TV.

@Radox-0

Thanks for that, very useful. :)

One last question, how high up is the bottom of the screen from the surface it sits on? Is it about 3cm? That what it looks like from that link you posted.

Looks like I need a nice piece of wood 100x26x10.
