Wouldn't that just be the Wallpaper TV?Do you not think LG should develop some form of external connection device like the one connect box for their OLED’s?

Well it works, but not everyone has one, and a HDMI cable is a lot thicker than a one connect cable. It’s like a thin wire.Thats what an AVR is for tho I always thought..

I would love it. One easy cable for AV and power and have the breakout box hidden away. Love it on my Q9FN and wish my OLED had it.
I have an AVR yet will route my inputs direct into the C9. Why? To leverage VRR, higher refresh rate etc. Then have ARC/ eARC out to my AV receiver. Works flawlessly, only need to use the single Magic remote. AV receiver simply turns on and off with TV to point AV is hidden away now. Only upcoming denon AV receivers will pass through VRR and the other stuff.
Not to mention, the single cable on one connect box also will transfer power, Ethernet, Aerial etc so not just the HDMI portion. Makes it absolutely lovely for wall mounting.
I am upgrading from an E6 to a CX, looks like brightness and lag have been improved upon since the E6 so fingers crossed.
I was looking for a C9 65" but not in stock around me.
With Ampere around the corner it should be interesting to see if this will make a nice TV for PC gaming
I am in a similar dilemma, with the exception that I need to get a new TV for the master bedroom wall.
My TV in the lounge is the 65E6, which is still a great TV and I am very happy with it.
Rather than spending cash on a new TV though I could upgrade my 65E6 to something newer, then put the 65E6 in the bedroom (it's quite a large room so it may work). The 65E6 also has decent sound so I won't have totally crap audio.
Have you got the CX yet, and if so how is it by comparison? Also wondered how much it was? seems like not the best time to get a new TV right after it's launched price wise.

It was the stock £2799, but it is excellent - for gaming especially it feels a lot more responsive. I played the last of us 2 on it - t'was excellent. The sound is terrible so make sure you do get a sound bar, I got the sonos arc system with sub and surrounds, and Atmos sounds amazing with E-Arc.
The picture quality on the E6 is stunning still for movies etc, but for overall brightness and gaming I like the CX, I moved the E6 to my bedroom funnily enough!
I have seen the E6 for a good whack on the bay, but.. dunno if I can be mithered since the only replacement would be a 55" C9 or CX
I've played with my CX and can now compare it to the C9.
I will keep it short. C9 has the DTS decoder + extra 8gbps bandwith.
The CX has improved where TVs are used most, namely motion and PQ quality. Yes the motion is improved, even without BFI. Its a good improvement, a very good one IMO, for those who are sensitive or care about motion. Moving onto PQ, yes the PQ has improved. The sharpening, the AI picture mode, the super resolution all seem to work better than on my C9. On my C9 I leave picture processing off, here I don't.
Film maker mode is great and very close to my calibrated panasonic 902B.
I won't go on and on about the positives of OLED cos we al ready know them. However the subtle improvements to PQ image processing and motion IMO end up being a moderate upgrade on the C9. Definitely for problematic sources such as 4K HDR Blurays which are a bit soft. The detail retrieval is better and the artificial picture processing settings work more naturally than on my C9.
This further extends and is much more apparent in 1080p sources. Titanic with the relavant options ticked.. was absolutely 4k-ish apart from the lack of HDR, whilst on the C9, it was very very soft and looked 1080p.
if ur a videophile who likes motion and PQ.. get the CX.
I feel these subtle but important improvements have been glossed over by the many because of the features which have been lost. we are now a tech society of spreadsheet readers, we don't focus on the actual user experience and qualitative improvements in visuals.. we just care about numbers. LG's achilles heel for anyone that knows home theatre is that Panasonic and Sony have better picture processing, this year they have bridged the gap to the extent that I honestly feel the CX deals just as well with most content as the relavant Sony/Panasonic models. Sure Sony is still king of motion, Panasonic still king of PQ but the gap is now very close; whilst LG still have their trademark magic remote, HDMI 2.1 features, gsync and VRR.
now if they are both the same price or similar. cx cx cx.
If the C9 is available at a discount, C9 C9 C9 IMO unless you are a videophile or a motion nut who wants HDMI 2.1 (If you're just a motion nut, obviously go Sony).
I won't be calibrating this CX as it is close to my 902B in PQ... thats a big statement IMO.
Also if you use a sonos soundbar or a non-DTS decoding device, get the C9.
The DTSX lack of decoder is a dealbreaker for those who download films and put them on a HD to play and for those who use a sonos soundbar. It is also a minor major inconvienance for everyone else... myself included.
(I've decided I'll just get a freaking HDMI 2.1 receiver.. either this year or next.. I'd rather have TWO HDMI 2.1 ports on the receiver as input tho.. this years only have one which is a pain in the butt).

Hi mate, I too have ordered the 77CX in the end, good to hear your opinions
I was going to the 65CX and had a reasonable price match on it (£2400 instead of £2800), but I decided if I am changing TV I will get a bigger one as well to boot as I am sat a good 13ft back from it.
Motion handling is one of the weakest points of the 65E6 I am moving from so very happy to hear if that is better now, especially on slower panning shots on 24p content.
If you do attempt a price match at JL make sure you take a good screenshot of the whole page including your system clock and save it, because JL are taking a week or so to do price match requests right now, the price may go up then they will ask for it.
Further, if you do get one, please either trust me or poke me on here because I would love to save a few hundred £ on it if I can get a price match in the near future. I try and keep an eye on this link for the prices of various shops that sell it.
Paid an extra £20 to get my 77CX delivered on the 14th (next day but not on a weekend apparently). Otherwise it was wait another week and I can't wait (plus I'm off work most of next week).
Interested to hear what out of the box settings you are using? I am mainly using a Denon AVR3300 attached to an Nvidia shield for plex with 1080p or 4k remuxes where possible. I also have a PS4 PRO and an Xbox One X though on the AVR.
we are like twins. same AVR.
one annoying thing is through hdmi control, the volume control of the AVR is a bit weird.. like laggy. you press volume down and it goes a bit more. before the firmware, it was very slow so i guess u win some u lose some.
Hmm not really noticed that on my E6, using HDMI-CEC to control the amp using TV remote and the volume seems to work OK. Not instantly fast though.
Most annoying problems I seem to have with the E6 and the Denon are:
Not really dug too much into it because not sure if it's the Shield that's the problem or the AVR itself.
- Turning off the TV via TV remote power button turns off both the TV and the AVR. Sometimes they seem to turn themselves back on again a few secs later.
- I play media via my Nvidia Shield TV connected to the AVR, but quite often when I boot up the TV it fails to display any image from the shield to the AVR. Sometimes changing the input back and forth fixes it and I get an image to work, but sometimes it requires me to do that 5-10 times before it will accept that the shield should display anything
- More rarely than the 2nd point, sometimes I get a green funky image, possibly it's failing the HDCP checks.
That video really makes the DV raised black a lot worse than it actually is, that it's laughable. DV raised blacks has been an issue since forever, and it looks nothing like the video at around 1:09.
